4 star is planned (ugh) and I really, really hope there are no plans for 5.

They used to have 1-3 diamonds a very long time ago, but some UI update in 2019 changed it to show stars out of 5 possible. 4* and 5* effects have existed in the files since the game launched, but most have been broken or just ported straight over from fo4. A few of them were used in unique items like the perfect storm. As of right now, only cheaters are running around with 4* or 5* gear, but later in the summer it is going to be possible to upgrade gear up to 4* too. Legendary crafting is separate, it's coming next month but it will not include 4* legendaries yet. No word on when if at all it will be possible for legitimate 5* legendaries

4 Star Legendary rolls come in late 2021, so probably mid 2022, you know how these things work.

doesnt seem like the new system will be useful if you already had god rolled items.

There are already 4* items in game. The Fixer being the first example.

If you do a reroll on one, it shows the base item as the 4th star.

i wonder what exactly 5 star effect would be, 4 stars can be guess as the fire or poison or extra sneak damage effect on weapon, what sort of weird or funny effect is there or they could have stack effect ? quad quad or weightless weightless
