Having trouble finding food. Any tips?

I'm level 11. I'm having finding food to eat. The plants don't provide much food value so I don't normally pick the blooms. I'm low on caps so I can't buy food.

In the future I will:
- Eat any animal I can but I have to kill it with my hatchet as I'm low on bullets too.
- I'll try to find a farm when my hunger gets to 50% and get a bunch of food there.

Do you have any other tips for me?

plant corn at your camp, have it next to dirty water so you can craft boiling water, and just eat soups. Soups count for both food and water and different ones have different bonuses. Corn is AP regen

canned food. that is all. feed the people event = canned stew thirst and hunger.
dog food has a perk associated as well as a mutation to further support it.
carnivore and herbivore mutations one or the other, eat raw meat or fresh picked flowers.

but dog food has been my thing since day one. it dosent spoil, with perks has low rads, and fills you up good. same endurance special has dromedary which highly improves the water drinking experience. pretty much all one needs is dog food and purified water machine.
you can find dog food all over. food machine sin buildings, restaurant ruins. WATOGA if you can manage to neutralize the bots. dog food on so many table tops with nuka colas or various waters. food machines in a lot of buildings... rooftop cafes etc... camps of all types even just a tent and cooking fire can spawn dog food cans. pork and beans. game needs canned fruit to be honest peaches, spaghetti style hard to fathom that all the stores just had pork and beans and veggie ham. dog food in aisles 2 3 and 4. but pre war food dosent spoil has rads ... thats the balance. defeat rads eat for free all day long.

If you add me here on steam I would be happy to either drop you my surplus ammo if I have some you can use. Or I can make you some.

Same deal as someone else mentioned. Use it for yourself and not just sell it. Also pay it forward and help others when you are no longer low level.

The Wayfare has corn crops you can take. You can make corn soup that is not terribly bad food, and it does recover some thirst too. Other than that I would just eat anything I can find. Radaways are very easy to find so munching on radiated food is not a problem.

Once you have an established "camp" you can grow all the food you want. At that point, dont "ignore food totally" Food provides >great< buffs, especially if you get the herbivore or carnivore mutation. So, don't worry about not having it early on, but def don't neglect it later! Exp food is great for leveling.

For now, any "farm" location will have tons of plants you can grab for easy food. There are farms N and SE of vault 76. There is a public garden near the responder training area SW of the Wayward.

Learn to recognize harvest-able plants in the wild, edible stuff grows >everywhere<!

Oh and cooked food makes you fuller than raw.

dont bother eating for a bit , i dont think it really matters , its just a repetitive thing to do in the game , what really happens if you dont eat ? not like you die

Here you go, something to work towards. Please dont "ignore" food and drink. Just don't worry that you will starve or something. Food and drink, once you get it set up are super useful everyday buffs.

Yeah, food is very useful for buffing some skill. I prefer to use blight soap for 20% more critical damage in VATS. Some brahmin meat for more carry weight 1h. corn soap for desease resistance and so one and one. All is easy to farm without preparing a big adventure. And not to forget craneberry sauce for leveling.
