Better mods scrapping Handmade level 15 25 35 45 ?

I'm trying to get all Handmade mods by crafting and scrapping a short Handmade over and over again. Do I get better mods when I craft and scrap a Handmade level 45 instead of 15? I'd like to know, because crafting a higher level Handmade costs much more materials such as screws.

Nope, scrap the lowest level possible.

Make sure you put on Super Duper while crafting and scrapper while scrapping.

Craft the lowest level possible. If you are doing the same for armour later equip armorer perk as it will reduce the material cost of crafting. There isn't a similar perk for guns unfortunately.

Absolutely don't forget super duper and scrapper perks.

I have never had issues learning mods from the lowest level item I could craft. Others will tell you that you only get mods from higher level items. This has not been my experience for any guns or armour.

Wow, that is GREAT news! I'm gonna scrap a whole lot of Handmade 15's now! :-)

When I was new trying to get my lever action and handmade rifles max

crafting baby guns stopped producing new mods after a while

and I'm talking no mods in many hundreds of scraps

then I switched to the 45 versions and got the last of the mods quickly

You will have to scrap tens of low level guns to get a single mod
Scrap high level guns, you get 1 mod every 2 or 3

If you have any guns which you have learned all mods for, it seems to have a greatly increased chance of learning the schematics if you scrap a bunch of these already-learned guns before scrapping the desired weapon. Example, if you have all combat shotgun mods learned but wanna learn handmades, scrap two or three combat shotguns then the handmade. I've learned all the handmade mods except for the one barrel I sought, this way(over the past week).
