FUNKY DUDS
Can someone tell me or, link a list , as to what is considered a "Set" of matching armor for the Legendary perk "Funky duds". Maybe I am just over thinking it. For example- Does paint count? Do mods/upgrades on the armor count? How about Heavy leather vs regular? Scout armor vs Forest? Regular combat armor vs heavy or BOS combat armor. How about Under-armor - does it have to match as well? etc. I have googled it and found no real answers.

ALL T-60 parts for PA is an example.

it's obviously the same set, leather, metal, combat, etc..

Interesting question with heavy vs. sturdy for the same type of armor.

I would assume they count in armor taking the exact same mods (not the names, but actual mod items and/or the plans applying). Or it needs the exact base naming of the armor, though i think that wouldn't be typical for what they've done so far, still possible.

Tested... no. It's on my secondary list, and i am not sure what to level next (Master inflitrator is taking a slot, but i will not level it, i will certainly level Ammo Factory, but 150 will take ages, and something like Follow Through would be cool, but 100/150 will probably be too expensive for the gain, so i might consider testing something else in between).

A matching set of armor is considered 5-pieces.
A matching set of power armor is considered 6-pieces.

Forest, Urban, Solar and Thorn scout armor are all considered as separate sets of armor.

Ultracite power armor and Strangler heart power armor are considered as separate sets of power armor.

Outfit helmets and underarmor do not count towards the full armor set.

------------------

Example:

Rank 3 Funky Duds and rank 2 Sizzling style. Wear a matching set up of Unyielding Forest Scout Armor, so the perks gives 150 poison resist and 100 fire resist on top of the additional +50 poison resist given by my armor.

OK so all leather , all combat , all metal , all raider , count as "sets"? BOS, urban, and forest are not part of combat - but are considered separate sets in an of themselves. I figured on the PA stuff out- pretty self explanatory. I am a stealthy sniper type of a build and at level 119 currently - only use PA when I have to because of the increased carry weight. I have selected these legendary perks = "Follow Thru" at level 2, "perception" at level 2, and "Agility" at level 2. I was thinking of the "Funky Duds" and did not really understand the details on the non power armor- hence my beginning the thread. I have never done a daily operation as I have no mic and I have never played a multiplayer game in my life. I don't know what to expect in a daily as I know stealth does not work at all, and I am afraid I would not be much help, as I am probably considered "squishy" and typically take my time and utilize cover/stealth to take out enemies rather than "run and gun" like it seems you must do on daily ops as it is timed. Mostly people are super nice in game so maybe I will try. Have enjoyed the game for the most part playing as a single.

Don't worry about it Daily Ops are very easy with 3 people, and it's even doable with 2 people as long as they know what they are doing. Anyway, as long as you have yer rifleman or commando perks slotted you'll do enough damage. Just make sure to take stimpacks. My build is pretty much like your's is. I wear power armor in daily ops for the extra damage mitigation, and don't worry about my stealth stuff. But honestly, if you get at least 3 people you'll be able to knock it out in 6 minutes, so don't sweat it. Just do them and follow a person that looks like they know what they are doing. That's how I learned them. They aren't hard. Just for reference, I was doing them at level 35 if the group had 2 other people. You really can't mess these missions up unless you don't stay in the transponder area.

Also, for daily ops, try to find a legendary plasma gun with the 50% armor penetration bonus. Mod it into a rifle, put a flamer barrel on it, and with yer rifleman perks and bloody mess you just melt ♥♥♥♥ so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fast. This is what I use for daily ops even though I'm a rifleman/stealth build.

That gun probably puts out more sustained damage then any other gun I have. Of course when I'm being stealth rifleman I'll go back to a lever action rifle for the one shot potential.

AA flamers are pretty obscene too but that type of weapon literally eats the ammo

Prime anti armor plasma flamer with extra limb damage - my favorite. Now with less action points cost, just upgraded by player vending (previous two star one from gameplay, and i'm using the standard grip, due to pistols perks). I do have a prime quad plasma sniper thing as well, so ammo consumption and range can be varied.

Not sure if furious + 25% fire rate is comparable, after all anti armor is very good.

I've been avoiding daily ops, but i'll try some more times.

Concerning really using it in radiation rumble or daily ops or wendigos with the colossus ... i still prefer it as a back up, as the ammunition drain is extreme, and i doubt you get as much back in daily ops (needn't be a problem). Combined with something ranged certainly makes up for a convenient match...

THANKS GUYS! i had no idea your could mod a plasma pistol into a plasma rifle and it would then utilize my sniper riflemen perks. Any idea where I could pickup that mod? I was figuring I would have to use PA and a heavy gun like a Gatling Gun or something for Daily ops- to which I have no idea how to use well and have no perk cards for. I think I have a legendary quad plasma gun that ignores armor or something like that. SO - just to show how inexperienced I am - what is the "transponder area" that GoJak_v3 mentions a few posts earlier?
I think best is to scrap plasma rifle/pistols you find. If you find the crafting plan for plasma guns and can afford, it may ease things a little bit.

Transponder area is specific to daily ops. The "story" involves activating some transponder somewhere in the event area.

You can buy the crafting plans for various plasma flamer barrels from Bot Vendors.

I also have one of those:

This is really good for the daily ops where you need to finish with a melee hit. That thing puts out really good damage too even without perks for it. Advantages over the plasma flamer; it has longer range, it isn't nearly as ammo hungry, and I think it's AOE cone is bigger than the plasma flamer.

I also use this when when I'm not being so stealthy and their are groups of enemies like in daily ops.

As for my stealth gun, just a simple lever action rifle.

This pretty much one shots any humanoid type enemy, and maybe like two or three for robots and super mutants. But if yer playing stealthy you can easily get off those two or three shots to take full advantage of the stealth stuff.

Anti Armor only affects Ballistic and Energy damage.

Flamers do fire damage now. Anti Armor has no effect.

Really? I had no idea. When was the change made? Must be fairly recent as it would be a ♥♥♥♥ move to keep rolling flamers with AA if it does nothing.
