Good CAMP spot?

Yesterday I bought the Flying Fortress building and found that my current area is too small for it (it's close Vault 76), and I'm just wondering where a good, mostly-flat spot is to build it. Thanks

I built a mobile base that only uses 1 foundation block to be placed anywhere....

But then I placed it and built around it cause I got the fortress and the brotherhood bldg as well. Now I have my original base w vendors and those two bldgs around it and all the underground vaults for a pretty sweet underground base that’s nearly complete, (just have to build up the new quarters vault and finish the last 1/4th of my lobby.

Pretty much build anywhere that suits you. Just look around. Either out in the wilderness if you don’t want ppl coming through or in a populated spot so lots of people see your stuff.

For instance I’m by the starting area kind of and my buddy is literally at the lumber mill lol.

It’s all up to you.

I personally like these 2 spots a lot.
Location#1 happens to have a Flying Fortress at the moment, but both locations can comfortably host that structure.
Location#1 has no resources, but it's near water.
Location#2 has a junk pile and also located near water
Both locations are inside the nuke-free zone if that's important to you.

The most flat ground you can have in this game is the Whitespring golf
It is very flat and also quite convenient because middle of the map


Good spot for a base is player dependant obviously
Still, some points to consider...

Fast travel to base and Vault 76 is free...a base near vault 76 is not the best way to capitalize on this
The more you level the more you go East
Having a train station very close to your base is VERY convenient
Having a ressource node / water is a plus
If the area is high traffic, you get more people visiting your base...more sales


I think the Divide is probably the best area to settle (in general)

Where is that?

That is the red zone with all the scorchbeast. If you don't want to deal with them the Toxic valley might be better all the way up north in the white zone.

I dont live in Whitespring...too green for me ;D
But very flat...

Still, while it can be nuked, it is quite rare
Havent seen it nuked in the last 2 monthes
And if it is targeted by a nuke, one can just leave the server

The “shelter” underground vault you get for free from a quest, (sorry I don’t remember the name off the top of my head atm but it should be a easy google search.). The other 3 are all atom shop.

I built mine on a bridge. its actually a really cool spot.. just follow rivers and when you find a bridge u can set up your camp on it. and its good because there's water under ur camp, for purifiers

Unless you want to be constantly battling to find a server that your camp can occupy do not do the following.

The more of these that you have the less likely you will find a server that will allow your camp.

Do not build a camp near a store.
Do not build a camp on flat ground.
Do not build a camp near a water source.

Everybody wants these hence the problem.

Instead try to find a location that is the opposite of those.
Do build a camp within 4 caps of a store. (Mine has 3 stores within this range)
Do build a camp on rough ground. (The view is better)
Do build a camp where there is no water source. (You can build stuff to collect it)
Do build a camp where there is a resource you want to mine.

You do these things and most of the time you can log in the first time. After all what good is having the perfect location if you cannot get to it.

I like to find some crappy patch of ground near a railroad station that's too rough for most people's bases, but will fit my 2-foundation elevated base just fine.
