The hallway leads to a machine room with several levels. At the bottom is an armor workbench and a keypad-locked supply cage. The cage can be closed and opened by a button from within. Inside of the keypad-locked supply cage, there is a hole in the wall leading to a locked door with a card reader, requiring the correct ID-card to unlock.
Enter through the Gauley Mine front door, not the mine exit. This is the only thing that resolved it for me.
Yes, logging into another server will fix the issue. This can happen in other quest locations that require key cards too (Hornwright and etc).
Sometimes it requires -multiple- hops -- had this occur with a toon on Hornwright, almost drove me nuts!
I take it you never experienced a bug before? Something not working as it should.
2024, experiencing this exact problem on PC. I been through the quest once as help, so it didn't advance the quest. I personally experienced what it should do.
Went through the previous exit as we did together, through cage, through first carded door. Second carded door does nothing.
Changed worlds, logged out and back in, went back and talked to everybody at the Wayward, came in through the original front entrance, still doesn't register that I have the card for the second door.
Pretty much the entirety of Fallout 4 is tied to your FPS. Script timings, animations, lockpicking, jump height, and other tings. It is how the engine works. And Fallout 76 is that same engine with some modifications.
