This has actually been happening for at least a year or so now, not just recently. Around the time when they realized people were just hopping servers to collect junk. like the plastic in Mogantown High school. Isn't of grabbing it all and hopping servers, you didn't get a refresh until they did the weekly refresh on tuesdays.
255 looted items, or the weekly reset..........which ever comes first.
Once you go past 255 the oldest items drop off and reset.
Just enough that you can't sit in one spot and farm specific junk. Terrible actually having to play the rest of the game when you just want to be in a corner. Burned a ton of resources setting up a shelter and can't finish because I have to go hoover up more junk. Still selling guns at the train stations is great caps, it's just difficult chasing down player vendors.
Why some people can't put the dang machine somewhere obvious.
