Violet Flux & Hardened Mass

What a horrible grind that is! I have been going to every irradiated area looking for some. I have yet to see any or the ingredients to even make it. Quite an insane pursuit Bugthesda has put us on for that garbage! Anybody have advice on how to make this grind (pursuit) easier? It can't be this awful of a grind...can it?
FYI: I have only been playing less than 2 months.

The cranberry bog (South East of the map) is a great place to get Violet Flux. However it can be a chore to get the other materials like hardened mass, glowing mass, and high radiation flux, especially if all of the scorch beasts are dead since they tend to spawn the regular mobs when they pop out.

After the SQB event, go farm around Fissure Site Prime, if you see an Ulltracite depot that not change when you harvest it, stay there, each time you harvest the depot a 5 scorched will spawn ... .

Yep. Been all over after SQB events and searched all over the Cranberry Bog. Even with Green Thumb perk...nothing. Not enough to even convert the Violet Flux. *sigh* One of the worst grinds in the game so far for me. Even with 400 hours in, and doing most of these missions by myself cause none of my friends play and I thought I could make friends while playing (but haven't), so its getting to the point where i'm just about to quit this grind! I appreciate all the help and advice tho. Thank you!

Keep at it. Server hop. I've only been playing a month myself. Kill enemies in the zone to get the 3 other requirements first. Those 3 don't spoil. Glow mass, hardened mass and high radiated water. Make sure you have a good handful of each of those before picking the flux. As soon as I heard a nuke was dropping I'd get my power armor ready to go!

Finally, check out player's vending machines. Look for them selling "junk" before you go. Twice I found players selling stable "whichever one you need" flux cheap.

Flash Ferns ? Can't throw a stick 5 feet without hitting one in rad zone. Fluids is the sucker punch part but I had a good day last weekedn when someone nuked whitesprings and almost every glowing ghoul dropped some.

Found in the Enclave bunker in Whitesprings, there is 5 documents that convert flore into raw flux. 1 document for each of the raw fluxes. Check where the workbenchs are ... , didn't remember well ... . Like that, you will have the flore conversion and what you need to search ... .

And you guys were right. Hardened Mass is the worst! Couldn't find anything! Finally got a ton of violet flux but no Hardened Mass, so all that was for absolutely nothing. This grind just keeps getting worse!

i farm that stuff every few weeks when needed
tis a pain at 1st but once ya get used to it it becomes quite easy
if u wanna we could launch a nuke and farm some
im on ya friends list so just message if u wanna do it :)

It is a pain. I know it'll get easier. I was able to snag some violet flux today, but sadly no hardening mass. But yea, I would love to do some farming with you. Unfortunately it's late in the day now (for me) but i'll be online tomorrow for sure. I'll hit you up if I see ya or vice versa. Thanks!

Smart move is to get the masses and fluid first, and then go get the unstable flux. Otherwise the flux just goes to waste.

I know everybody launches on the Queen or Earle. But, if you launch on Morgantown, you can get lots of the other ingredients and then pick flux. Also when picking flux slot Green Thumb so you get two for the price of one.

What I find is I'll end up with a ton of one or two components and the others are harder to get than Ultracite Calibrated shocks

The best place to farm glowing mass, hardened mass and high-radiation fluids is whitesprings and morgantown , Make sure your in a group with freinds and nuke either one of those towns , Start at one end and work your way through the nuke zone and kill every glowing ghouls you see and make sure everyone gets a hit on each ghoul ,
After you cleared the whole nuke zone out head to the edge of the zone and one of you in the group jump out to menue and rejoin the server , That will trigger all new spawns , You can keep doing that for a couple hours before the nuke zone vanishes

I would stock up on glowing mass, hardened mass and high-radiation fluids before i would nuke other parts of the map for Raw flux . and dont forget you need 10 raw flux and 1 of each of the others to make 1 stable flux

I have so many pure fluxes now that I don't hang onto any hardened mass, glowing mass and high rad fluids I pick up. I usually drop them at the nearest train station for others to use.

In my experience it is the High rad fluids that are the hardest to get to drop. When I was crafting my own fluxes I always had tons of the other two, but the rad fluids would always limit how many I could craft.

Next time I have a bunch I don't need I will let you know.
