Nukes NW of Fort Atlas

Why do so many folks choose to nuke the area just northwest of Fort Atlas? I noticed that nukes happen there frequently.

a side quest also requires you to nuke it I believe. I have said quest but I have not yet entered any silos. I have just stated the Enclave quests which I think lead to that or something. I am an old noob so dont quote me on this lol.

Earl gives more Legendary Cores than queen.

But eventually people will run out of Modules and have more cores than they know what to do with.

I believe the person who gives the quest is located in Foundation. You just go there and you can talk to her and she'll give the quest.
