[SPOILERS] What ending did you go for in catalyst? What kind of ending did you get?
So okay I think I acted a bit brashly to see if the game would let me, but I did indeed attack Shin.
But now I'm wondering if there's actually more than one ending where it's either Shin and Rhamani or just Shin as the head of the Appalachian BoS.
Because before the consequences of actions have been quite small, but this one made me wonder.

I went with the lady side. I did felt bad for the other dude because he finally opened up about how those weapons got in the hands of people. The ones who got themselves killed. He doesn't want more dead. Maybe if wasn't such an ass. I would had sided with him instead and killed those who created the super mutants. But i let them join.

Rhamani was literally wrong about everything in the DLC. She was wrong to give the orders to protect the settlers, she was wrong to destroy the transmitter to the elders, she was wrong about Calvin Van Lowe (Aries), she was wrong about the scientists. She was wrong about literally everything. She was unfit to lead the Girl Scouts, much less a military organization.

As for the Scientists, I wanted to let them live, but then I talked to them. They straight up admitted they'd continue experimenting with FEV, which is proof that education doesn't make anyone smart, it just makes them arrogant. The world is better without them. Shin can make the hard calls, more importantly, he learns from one mistake, instead of repeating the same mistakes over and over like Rhamani. Still, I let Rhamani go, and she can create her own faction to help the people. She certainly didn't deserve to be killed.

By the way, I noticed people are saying Shin is an Ass, did you side with him in Steel Dawn? Because Shin is a lot more friendly to my character throughout Steel Reign, even in times when I side with Rhamani in an argument.

This is the Wasteland, justice is hard. No police, no jail cells (Mad Dog Malone says Hi). Death is the only solution.

After juggling the moral dilemma there was no way I'd let Valdez oversee the scientists. As nice as she is, she is still a ditz and would be walked all over. Like in Atlas with the Ultracite core and letting us see classified documents, plus talking to us like a child.

Taking Shin's option (even let him do the killing but he just stood there) is really the only way this ends, burn the vats and seal the lab until the Master 2.0 arrives.

Having done all the dialogues and tidbits you can find, I totally understand where Shin's coming from and why he behaves the way he does.

I just sent Rahmani packing back.

And to put it bluntly, in my opinion, damn near every character from Steel Dawn/Reign is an absolute asshat in their own way. Valdez is the only likable one.

I sided with Rhamani in every situation because believe the Brotherhood should actually be helping Humanity move forward for the future, assisting in the development of better technology/ methods, the development of settlements and protecting whats left of America.

I didn't attack Shin because it didnt seem right. However, i would of rather had the option of being able to completely destroy this BoS Chapter down to the last man and woman simply because i don't like the Brotherhood at its core.

The Brotherhood are nothing but another group of Thugs/Raiders in Power Armour who pretend to be protecting the people of the Wasteland from 'Misuse' of Technology by hoarding Technology themselves, using it in their warfare to eradicate Mutants and destroy anyone who would refute their Ideology and Intentions , taking Technology from the people of the wasteland by force if it comes down to it.

I was with Shin all the way.
I killed the scientists but let Rahmani leave. Now that I think about it, I should have killed that stupid hippie too. Ad victoriam!

It literally doesn't matter. Yes, I tried both endings on different characters just to see what happens, And it doesn't matter.

For the record, any time someone says "For the Greater Good' you are 100% dealing with a latent war criminal at best.

Tyrants that murder and torment not for a sadistic pleasure, but because the conscious deludes them into thinking it'll "All be worth it" are the worst monsters of all. A raider may grow bored of tormenting you, A robber baron may have a change of heart, but someone who commits atrocities under the guise of the greater good will remain a blight on the world until they are ended.

Shin all the way, wanted to save the scientist but after talking to them they would probably end humankind in the end. Enclave would probably attack BOS later and take the scientists and release the modified FEV to the wild. Was too much of a risk to have the continue researching the virus.
