There is the run in like a bull in a china shop in your best armor with your best weapon. Then there is the stealth mode with a CSS where you can avoid killing many of the robots.
Both have benefits and downsides. It all depends on which you are more comfortable with.
There are also two shortcuts. One is legit that allows you to skip repairing the reactor with the proper application of a lock pick and terminal hack. The other skips the reactor and mainframe core destruction and involves a glitch.
Beyond that, a few pointers.
Every section may have turrets, has some bots, and has a "leader bot". At the entry to each section is a terminal you can hack that will allow you to either deactivate the bot and turrets, or disable targeting restrictions. Disable targeting restrictions and the turrets and bots fight it out and you can sneak around. Deactivate the turrets and you don't have to worry about them anymore.
It's all in what you are comfortable with.
Personally, I deactivate the turrets in the reactor room, the first few rooms where we destroy mainframe cores, turn them on the bots in the big mainframe destruction room, disable in the room where we fix mainframe cores, and then turn them on the bots in the control room. It's all in where I'm going to be spending time and not wanting to deal with bots.
Honestly, the quest just completes for me when someone else launches a nuke.
You don't need X-01. T-51b, T-60, or Ultracite would be fine.
If you are in a team with someone who launches a nuke you get a completion and don’t have to enter a silo. But where is the fun in that?
And PA is not required.
Don't to forget to wear Secret Service Under-armor and max it out for some additional protection.
High dmg weapon.
ANY AA weapon should do with 75% bonus dmg from perks.
Better stimps, auto stimps.
Chems help to, but who uses them for anything other than spec ops boss.
also the power plant is only the first area of 3 you need to do
