I am become death, recommended gear?
I tried doing the I am become death quest in Site Alpha and kept dying even in power armor and using a minigun. I was about to finally repair the last power core when I had a CTD and I don't intend on redoing the whole thing without proper gear next time. Any recommendations on how I can get through the whole thing again much swifter?

i mostly used my chinese stealth armor during that quest part to avoid dealing with the robots that have infinite spawns. There is a faster way of doing it. it requires PA to clip through a wall and can pretty much move over to the other side to skip most of the annoying parts but i haven't done that glitch. I avoid launching a nuke when i can just server hop and find someone about to launch a nuke.

I use the Chinese stealth suit, sneak cards and a bloodied shotgun with a silencer. I have lost count how many nukes i have dropped.

Try to find a way to cripple assaultron legs and stay away of his laser beam ... . Use buffs with your character when doing a silo's run ... . Maybe keep a legendary weapon for robots and use it for this ... .

There are several ways of attacking a silo, and several short cuts and tips that help along the way.

There is the run in like a bull in a china shop in your best armor with your best weapon. Then there is the stealth mode with a CSS where you can avoid killing many of the robots.

Both have benefits and downsides. It all depends on which you are more comfortable with.

There are also two shortcuts. One is legit that allows you to skip repairing the reactor with the proper application of a lock pick and terminal hack. The other skips the reactor and mainframe core destruction and involves a glitch.

Beyond that, a few pointers.

Every section may have turrets, has some bots, and has a "leader bot". At the entry to each section is a terminal you can hack that will allow you to either deactivate the bot and turrets, or disable targeting restrictions. Disable targeting restrictions and the turrets and bots fight it out and you can sneak around. Deactivate the turrets and you don't have to worry about them anymore.

It's all in what you are comfortable with.

Personally, I deactivate the turrets in the reactor room, the first few rooms where we destroy mainframe cores, turn them on the bots in the big mainframe destruction room, disable in the room where we fix mainframe cores, and then turn them on the bots in the control room. It's all in where I'm going to be spending time and not wanting to deal with bots.

Honestly, the quest just completes for me when someone else launches a nuke.

You don't need X-01. T-51b, T-60, or Ultracite would be fine.

If you are in a team with someone who launches a nuke you get a completion and don’t have to enter a silo. But where is the fun in that?

And PA is not required.

Do the gold bar quest line and get the Chinese stealth armor, you should be able to avoid most of the unnecessary fight.
Wood armor, boxing gloves.

Disable targeting restrictions was the winning tip for me. It can get you through several rooms much better, without any glitch. But you'll need power armor (T-60 will do fine) or do it complete stealth. It isn't easy when you're not high level, but it's definitely doable.

Troubleshooters legendary effect armour. Doesn't matter what type as long as it's Troubleshooters on the first star. Get a full set for 75% damage reduction vs. robots and just stand there laughing at them while they try to kill you.

Secret Service Armor (Buttressed) is basically a bit better than Excavator Armor. You can create it with Chameleon and if you use the right perks you are pretty darn stealthy. There are a ton legendary effects you can create with the armor, though it is hit or miss, but you just keep creating till you get what you want.

Don't to forget to wear Secret Service Under-armor and max it out for some additional protection.

You need to know where to shot.
High dmg weapon.
ANY AA weapon should do with 75% bonus dmg from perks.
Better stimps, auto stimps.
Chems help to, but who uses them for anything other than spec ops boss.
