But yeah everytime I see a Scorchbeast I immediately fast travel somewhere else or server hop if I don't have workshops.
you should have played at launch when SCORCHbeasts were actually a creature that caused us to change course and avoid at all costs.
but the minority of "the visual attack makes me sick i got turrets and it makes me puke" skyscreamers on reddit managed to get the community managers to push the nurturing of the sb's. used to fly in packs and chase you for miles. relentlessly spamming the sonic attack distorting the vision and causing large amounts of rad damage. and calling droves of soldiers that would follow you into buildings you took cover in. made the story of the game make sense why this scorched plague was so bad. couldnt go out in the open and if you were attacked hiding indoors just got you pinned by foot troops. the civilians of the region didnt stand a chance. the bos did, but as we saw... it didnt last long.
so dont complain about todays sb. its a puppy you can walk up to and pet compared to when they were actually something to fear. they might bring the old sb back and then what would you do?...same as most of us run run run for cover and spam stims and radaways. lol....
seriously scorchbeasts once were a force of nature. now they are just giant flying bats that annoy you as you reload.
Scorchbeasts are not bad either.
Prime it.
The ammo is very cheap to make (as long as you only use it as a Sorched Murderer) and it does insane damage with V.A.T.S. Headshots, even without Heavy Weapons damage perks.
While there ARE better weapons out there, this is the fastest, cheapest, easiest way to get a weapon that is specifically deadly to flying Scorchbeasts. Making it a 3* Legendary is nice, but not even that nessisary. Just keep it on your "Favorites" wheel for whenever one shows up and headshot it a few times.
This.
As mentioned there are better weapons in the game, but specifically for dealing with SB while they are flying, it is the best weapon at that single job I have come across.
Concerning scorch beasts, perhaps something anti armor prime with higher damage... gauss/plasma sniper pistols, commando handmade/fixer does work on level 75 SB fast too, plasma caster, who knows what. An anti armor prime pipe bolt action also "works" but it's gotten slower too. Compound bow ~ any prime one might work, but uses as many perks as commando.
Archery, commando -> perception
pistols -> some agility + some perception (tank killer, concentrated fire)
Legendary special perk cards could help on this kind of add-in.
I see what you squanch there. Very nicely squanched.
As a fellow melee user(unarmed specifically) I carry an automatic laser rifle with a beam splitter, with that one luck perk that makes rifle shots cripple limbs(forget the name) forces them to the ground fairly quickly, and even with twisted muscles it's still fairly accurate.
There is however a bugged code which I think is the 'It's a Trap' A.I. package that stops SB from landing without breaking a wing. You can tell this bugged state when the SB does it's quick spin before landing it will slide backwards in the air and instead of landing fire off a sonic blast instead.
