T51b plans

Are the plans for t51b power armor normally quite expensive? I only ever saw a player selling the t51b torso plan for 20k caps. Is each plan for the t51b power armor 20k caps for each piece? I really dont know what the going rate is. Thanks.

The base armour plans for t-51 are random drops from treasure maps, which you get from crown marked creatures as well as from chests, so they do tend to be quite expensive, though the prices recently have taken a huge hike, that is even if you can find them, I paid about 2k each for mine, and I do not have a full set of them that was ages ago, but even around that time I was seeing people asking 5-10k for them.

Part of it is that most players do not bother about crafting the armour the simply go and find the t-51 pieces from a power armour frame, so the ones looking to buy the actual plans tend to be end game players with well more money then sense in some cases, though with their being a limit to the total amount of caps you can carry, if you have something that is rare well you can pretty much charge what you want and their is always going to be somebody who will pay that amount for it.

The plans are incredibly rare, like 0.XX% range and only drop from very specific places. So yeah people probably want to sell them for something really high as they're more like trophy items.

They are rare in my experience. I see them very occasionally for sale, but not for 20k each. Usually it is like 2-5k. I often buy them to give to friends who don't have them yet.

I was extremely lucky that a very nice player dropped me a whole bunch of plans when I was still very low level, gave me a thumbs up and then left. Amongst others, it included all T-51b plans. I had no idea at the time what was rare or valuable.

Honestly not really needed as it is easy to server hop and check the PA spawn points to get the pieces you want.

There are many places around that have frames and usually 3 pieces of armor on them.. I have found t45, t51b, and some with t60 pieces... once you find where they spawn you can always go back to the same place and if someone else did not get there yet and take it.. you can grab the frame and armor pieces and sell what you don't need. Any way, that is what I did until I had all the pieces I needed.

Okay, cool. Thanks for the info everyone. 2-5k each isn't bad, I can save up for that. I kinda figured they were quite rare as I only seen one plan for sale and it was the torso. I'll save up a decent amount of caps before really trying as I don't have much at the moment.

Shouldn't be, many people still have hundreds of them stored up from all the presents. They *should* be rare since their only legitimate source is a rare treasure map drop, but they are extremely plentiful. Maybe the cheaters are pretending that they're rare though

Kind of a side note, but when I was a low level someone sold me all of the plans for the ultracite power armor pieces as well as mods for 300 caps. So I was surprised that t51b was so expensive. But I guess it's justified as any of the plans are a rare drop.

The ultracite armour base plans come from the, hmm enclave quest line I think, and the mods for the also drop pretty commonly from the scortch beast queen event as well as a bit more rarely from random scortch beasts, so apart from a couple of them calibrated shocks and reactive plates, maybe a couple of the others the mod plans for ultracite tend to be around 50 caps or so each for the most part.

Mostly base power armour plans depend on how hard they are to get, t-45, t-51 and t-60 are pretty much random drop from the treasure maps you find, though t-60 can be got rarely from doing BOS events, such as line in the sand, the missile defence etc.

You get them form the BOS events in Cranberry Bog like Surface to Air and Distant Thunder.

Took me about a year to collect all the plans for the T-51 and T-60 power armor.

They were also available with the Mole Miner events, the BOS base building event,

I think I still have some left over extras. Since they are rare and collectors are rare I do not place them in my vending machine.

You kinda got ripped off. You get the entire Ultracite Armor plan set for free from the terminal at the end of Belly of the Beast.

kinda depends on which mods were included really, for certain ones 300caps would be a major steal, but honestly even if it was just all the common mods i wouldnt consider that being ripped off

The drop rate for T51 plans is horrible, and unlike other newer plans, you can get duplicates. I've probably done over 1000 treasure maps, and I think I am still missing 2/6 of the set, maybe 3/6.

I was lucky to get 3 plans for 500 a piece. Still missing the head, a leg and arm :(

I really Really wish that they would have placed the plan in a vendor of some sort instead of the random drop from a map idea.

Side question: Do the maps sell for much? I have a bunch, but never cared to hunt for the chests.
