if you dont mean trading to players then you can try looking up how to farm cap stashes

The Scoreboard. That is about it.

You can try and farm cap stashes but that just seems like a time waster like farming the treasure hunting maps.

Three ways that one can farm for caps. I farm the large creatures that drop caps (Grafton Monsters, Behemoths, Mega Sloths, Giant Hermit Crabs). I've learned where most of these creatures reliably spawn and go around killing them then hoping servers and doing it again.
Second way, which relies on certain dailies being available but some players cannot do this as their daily quests may or may not be bugged. The Hemlock holmes golf course daily can be repeated for me. Turn in, leave zone, come back and turn in again. something like 60 caps and 3 scrip each time. Just have to farm up some radstag meat and tatos. The other daily is Chloe in Berkeley Springs. She can be repeated for me too. Do her quest, leave zone, return and it should say "Investigate Berkeley Springs" again, talk to her and she wont open up a dialogue box, which is ok. Now quit out and hope servers. Talk to her again and she will give the quest again. Its 90 caps and 7 scrip each time. Or you can do daily ops over and over again. Its either like 50-500 caps or 10-50 scrip each run (under 8 minutes not sure if that effects the caps/scrips rewards, I just stay under it everytime to be sure). Its a grind but if you got the time and the need for caps/scrip.

Restarting power plants pays an extra 100 caps for doing the bonus part.
Riding Shotgun pays an extra 100 caps if you do the bonus.
Most mini-events marked on the map pay 20-30 caps each.

generally 16-20 caps

oh, i thought of another method! I usually do this for exp so it didn't cross my mind but you could get exp, caps, gunpowder and some ammo doing this. West Tek runs killing supermutants. Now that its instanced its easier than ever. Supermutants have a chance of dropping 3-7 caps on their corpses and its pretty frequent, and theres roughly 20+ supermutants in there and some more if you go to the basement. Since its instanced, once you leave you only have to wait 60 seconds before returning and they all spawn back. Rinse and repeat. Great for experience gains as supermutants at lvl 100 give some of the highest experience (other than large creatures).

like biggity08 said before, go west tek and just loot the mutants. go full int and get a ton of xp too. there is also a good chance for legendary mutants, u probably have a good drop u can sell. also, try to sell your bad rolls of legendary gear, often people just buy to trade for scrip.
