How do workshops work?
So when I leave a session is everything I built at a workshop completely gone?
Does it save as a "blueprint" of sorts that I can place down again if I take the place?

I ask this because I took the Converted Munitions Factory and then placed ALL of the extractors, not to mention I have an insane amount of power connector towers, punji boards, and turrets built, and I'm wondering if I'll lose all of that work if another player takes it, or if I leave the session.

I am fine with actually losing the workshop, my concern/question is do I essentially get the stuff I built returned to me in some form, or at the very least does it blueprint or "remember" everything I built at that location?

No blueprint either.

You have to create the blueprint.

Yeah but you can't make a workshop-wide blueprint, you can make a blueprint of a turret on a portaloo or some craft stations in a premade like the train or whatever, just as you can make for your camps.

But making a blueprint that remembers where you placed all the things in the workshop isn't possible. Which is what people are actually wanting and asking about (seen the question/suggestion raised many times).

I'm not surprised, that is something that logically makes a lot of sense, and I feel would attract a lot more players to the whole workshop system, because frankly it's just tedious to have to rebuild everything every time.

Completely agree, would be nice to have a blueprint you can invoke for next time you take the workshop.

When a player who has captured and built up a workshop leaves the workshop reverts to unowned, if you get back on the same server quickly enough you may retain ownership.

This explains how you might come upon an unowned workshop that has been built up. When capturing a built up workshop, the cap cost to claim it is higher than the default unimproved workshop.

As was stated previously , you can blueprint sections of the workshop so you might be able to quickly develop that same workshop on another server.

Last thing to note. While building in a workshop, you will note that the amount of resources required to construct items begin green colored and turn white the more you build. A workshop has an initial stash of construction materials that are used for construction. The green numbers mean you are building with the workshops stuff, when the numbers turn white it means you are now using your own personal stash to construct things.

You can never get back the materials used for workshop construction.

if you notice while building in worshops the mats requirement for furniture etc are green till u over use it and then when it goes white then it comes out of your resources
and if u scrap anything there it goes back to the workshop you dont get it back

i wouldnt go all out in workshops thou just build the basics using as little of your own resources as possible but the returns from workshops aint that good anymore ya better off sticking ya camp on a ore node of the mats you need the most and just collect the rest from scraping junk, guns etc

you can sorta and i have before
make a small blueprint of a power source inside a small locked building then stick the refiners down and power them to your little premade sub station
ignore the rest turrets etc because they aint really needed if u go back to the workshop when a event pops up there
