I don't even bother with it in those cases.
all that said, i don't know if i'd blame the rad zone for the queen fight taking so long, i've seen it fast, slow, and average speed both in and out
The low rumble of the rads, the sky turning orange, that's an exciting ending to the story. Waiting in a fenced in area or worse on top of the fence is an anti climax. Besides in open land near the fissure SBQ will land more often, tent and fence sitters are often the cause of no landing (plus few running limb cripple perks).
So if a longer fight and no high rad players, sign me up. Being op is ok for solo but group content should be more inclusive.
As bloodied you're already down to 20% (most of the time) before the fight starts. So as much as it's about the radiation damage it's also about being so low in health that a radscorpion can tickle you and you're dead. Then, when you do something to manage your rads/the death problem, all of your dps dissapears.
We're talking like, barely made the timer before a fail here. So all of that trouble, ammo, time, was about to go up in a mushroom cloud. Sure all for a great fight in a nuke zone, but tell me how that goes when the Queen glitches out and starts skating around the sky (which almost always happens in longer fights).
Get carried edgelord.
As this game is based off a single player game agro control is really basic. To control the Queen all it takes is someone willing/able to take a few hits, that's it she won't fly if she can hit someone.
Melee builds excell as they can block, problem few melee around. Vampire tank builds can stay close, but they will need to deal with rads from Queen.
I'm an old school MMO player and know the dynamic of tanking and boss positioning for dps protection but the problem with FO76 is everyone wants to be dps. For this I blame YouTube as A.I. study and knowledge doesn't earn clicks.
In the end the fight is largely the same, a quick gear change, run right in, punch away.
