It isn’t bad at all. The problem is that most people in the game are decent players. It’s just that people on review boards and meta content is just as toxic as can be.

That being said, latest patch has made the game a bit unstable, I’ve noticed more frequent ‘the server is not responding’ issues, but I’m sure the next hot fix will put it back to normal.

To be fair, the story which involves npc humans is pretty good. Buy it and play only the story while it is on sale if you are only into solo experience of Fallout. No one will bother you if you don't wanna play multiplayer you don't need to buy 1st for private server.

from a fallout point of view, this one is the worst, comparing with fallout 3 & 4. but if one is looking for a game to play with frnds only, i guess it is ok. just be prepared to deal with some bugs & issues.

Just got the game after the free weeked and its a blast, no bugs so far, I'm liking the story, exploration and the combat, building is fun too

I personally find it peaceful. Im kinda a fan of the NPCless story line. I havent made it to the Wanderers storyline yet which im kinda excited for since im a fan of the fallout series. plus they continuously update the game like the brotherhood of steel campagin coming in december i think. plus they have a free battlepass every season so there is always something to work on.
