How can I get the Powerful Automatic Receiver mod with the handmade?
I'm trying to unlock the Powerful Automatic Receiver with the handmade. So I keep crafting the handmade, then scrapping it and I've been doing this multiple times and it has used up alot of resources. When I scrap the handmade, sometimes no mod is unlocked, is this normal? Is there a way to ensure that a mod is unlocked every time you scrap a weapon or is it random?

Is there any other guaranteed way to get my hands on the handmade? Or is there a vendor that sells the Powerful Automatic Receiver plan for it?

The chance to unlock a mod when scrapping is random and affected by your intelligence.

If there is mod plans for the Handmade then the Watoga Station or Berkley Station should have them.

Do you continue to create them and then recycle them? it would be a glitch and I don't think it works, you need to recycle those found during the game and not those manufactured that have characteristics you already know. :steamfacepalm:
Today after many months I have unlocked brutal receiver.

I just checked and neither of those 2 vendors have the Powerful Automatic Receiver plan for the handmade. Are there any other vendors that might have it?

When I've been scrapping the handmades, it seems like the fewer mods that I have left to unlock, the less frequent a mod gets unlocked.

Yes, I created them, then scrapped them and I got several mods that way (mods that I didn't already know for the handmade). Isn't that how you're supposed to do it? Craft the gun, then scrap it?

Wow, I finally got it. I was on my last batch of copper to craft my final handmade, then scrapped it and finally got the Powerful Automatic Receiver. I was dreading the thought of going out in the world and trying to farm copper (since I didn't see any vendors selling it). I guess it takes alot of patience and perseverance.

Well you could do that method, however a lot cheaper to find them though in the wild.

Especially now that Blood Eagles and Cultists drop them so frequently.

Pre-Wastelanders it was almost the only way since they were such rare drops.

There's a guaranteed handmade in the Berkley Springs Blood Eagle camp, on top of the building, it's a bit harder to find now with all the clutter though.

That's not entirely true. Some mods are locked behind blueprints that you can either find or purchase from vendors (for example, the Alien Blaster's Fusion Mag).

It is entirely true. You can scrap any crafted gun to learn mods.

FuFo never implied ALL mods could be learned that way.
You were the one to imply it claiming he was wrong.

No it's not true. You can not learn mods from dismantling gold bullion weapons such as the plasma caster.

You can't scrap any legendary weapons such as the plasma caster.

You are falling for someone's bad interpretation and taking things out of context.
NOBODY said that you could, except Zero's false claims.

Xero made up his own interpretation and obviously refuses to admit to his mistake when he said FuFo's comment was wrong.

Xero is now taking my scrapping weapons comment out of the context it was written in. Wasteland Project claimed crafted weapons could not be scrapped to learn mods.
FuFo corrected him with the correct information.
Zero then claimed that information was wrong.

That literally says you can not do it with gold bullion weapons.

Now because I pointed out crafted weapons could be scrapped to learn mods Zero is now tryign to take it out of context.

The simple fact that gold bullion weapons and armor can NOT be scrapped proves they are taking it out of context. How do you learn mods from scrapping something you can not even scrap?

Well heres the thing

Take lever action for example

level 25, 35, 45

You can get any unlock from a level 45, you can get a lot from the 35 and you can get most from the 25

The better mods require breaking down high level gear

The 25 will reach a point where it will NEVER give you another unlocked thing
The 35 will reach a point where it will NEVER give you another unlocked thing
The 45 will reach a point where it will NEVER give you another thing, but only after you've nearly unlocked everything except a select few special mods
