what price should you charge for stuff in your vendors?
im a packrat so I have a lot more stuff than I need, but im hitting the stash limit, so its time to cut down. is there a rule for how much i should be charging for stuff, like just the price the game values it at, a multiple of that, or what?

I know there's a generally agreed on value for legendary mods but regular stuff like plans, recipes and chems I'm sure would be helpful to someone but I'm not sure what to charge, I'd like to make some caps but I dont want to rip anyone off.

I go off the rule of how easy was it for me to accumulate so many that I want to sell them, and how plentiful or rare they are in game. I also go off the rule that if i decide to sell it, I am better off getting a decent price now and clearing room in my stash, than waiting 3-4 weeks for it to sell for a slightly better price and having a full stash. Caps are not hard to come buy, vending for me is just a little bonus. I have never set out to make huge money but it has grown to be very worthwhile.

Location plays a big part too. If you are anywhere near the wayward, like me, you can sell water and food and stims etc all day long to newer lower level players.

If you overprice something, usually it just won't sell. Not too many players are going to pay well over the going rate when a better priced item is simply a fast travel or 2 away. You shouldn't be overcharging people if it is a price you would happily pay if you needed that item.

Travel around as you are playing and get a feel for what certain items like the ones you are wanting to sell go for. You can usually spot the camps that expect to get top dollar for everything from the first few items you browse through. Don't be like them. For example Ultracite power armour pieces are not worth the games suggested price. They are way too plentiful. I sell ultracite armour pieces for 30 caps and mods for 10% of their value and they are still hard to sell.

End of the day have fun with it. You can always lower prices easily if you feel items are not selling after a short time.
Ammo pretty much all of it sells for 1 cap
Weapons & Armor- try fed76.info/pricing to get an idea of what to sell those for, and usually its better to list tempting weapons in the 2-3 star range rather than whatever you come across thats a 1 star

Ammo- usually 1-3 caps each depending on the caliber

Plans- these change between each vendor but I would at least not charge over what the listed price is, unless its something from events (such as treasure hunter), or the fixer plan. But I at least typically charge 10-20% base price on most regular plans found.

Junk- another one maybe to just charge 1-10 caps each depending on the rarity

Chems- not sure on typical chems like stimpaks and radaway, but serums usually go as low as 300 to 500 for fair deals
Hmm yeah I see, and I guess if my goal is to free up space then it doesn't really matter much what I get, thank you for the advice

I charge around 6 caps for chems /stimpacks/radaway etc, 3 caps for diluted, they sell sometimes.
sell stuff to NPC's,

don't bother with water, stim packs, rads, etc they are stupid common
same with non rare junk

only sell what was difficult for you to find or you'll find it never sells cause everyone and their brother has a thousand

magazines / bobbles are more for collection than use

chems are probably not going to be anything people buy as those who rely on chems will mass make the ones they need themselves to have a reliable supply

there are websites that show how much plans and weapons are worth so i go with those
That's a big broad question, some stuff is trade only no amount of caps is worth that item, some stuff is super rare, to rare and you should charge more caps, some a little over what the npcs will give you and some you just leave it at the price listed when you put it up.

honestly almost none of my plans sell so i just put everything for 10 - 20 caps. ammo all at 1 cap. i don't bother trying to sell anything else (not high enough to have a bunch of good weapons). it's a pretty terrible system if you don't stay on one map for a long time (i only play in 20 minute sessions)

The vast majority of plans are worthless to most players that are vendor hopping. Stuff like shielded underarmor plans, civil war outfit plans, rare event plans, and fixer plans can sell for over 10k and move pretty quickly.

Really rare plans like cutting fluid, walking cane mod plans, or lecacy bos pa paint are too expensive and should be traded.

Use the plan pricing too on fed 76 to learn what plans are worth selling and pull the trash plans from your vendor.
Depends on if you are interested in the economy and maximizing value or you just want the stuff gone but don’t want to toss it.
Personally, I just sell stuff cheap. A thousand for a decent legendary, 5-10 for plans, 15 for stims, things like that.

My only real complaint is actually setting the prices is a hassle.
I started playing 6 months ago. I noticed that the rates very player to player. I have been selling my items at 1/4 their listed value but have been thinking of going to 1/5 their value. Some days I sell a lot, some days, very little sells. It's good to sell something from each catagory as it show you want to sell but what I mainly sell is bobble heads, magazines, ammo and plans ( bobbleheads and magazines for 25 caps, ammo for 1 cap, and plans at 1/4 listed price). Sometimes you will get lucky and find a vender selling items supper cheap. I don't buy from someone who is selling at listed price.

This. I hate that they couldn't bother to implement a key input command for pricing. Instead, we are left with a console port of a "slider" to determine pricing. It's annoying.

The easy thing is to just set the default price, but no one buys at that. Why I wish I could flag vendor camps for people who set every plan at the default so I could avoid them and not waste my time. No one is buying your Jetpack for 3000 caps lol

Thats what I have been saying since I first started selling items. drives me crazy!
