From what I can tell a lot of the Daily Ops where designed to take down those using Meta Builds. If you go in without trying to tailor your equipment and Perks for what you will be facing it can be a hard time. I think a lot of the higher level players are to stubborn to change what lets them Face Tank or One Shot everything else in the game. So those who have Min Maxed everything oddly enough have a harder time, but some like that challenge.
I think me being melee focused may have helped. Plus I trained against the West Tec Super Mutants for about 50 lvls with no armor and only my trusty super sledge.
So even with the power armor and new mutations, it was just "like the old days" for me
30 minutes?!?! Ooof! If I don't finish them in under 7 minutes I lose my mind. Trying to go for under 5 minutes!
i like it makes it more of a challenge
i died 3 times in todays even with plasma flamer
Piercing attacks comes round alot
This is why I only do Uplink. I hate Decryption.
worst thing on the other side i got till now was a regenerating mutant run in uplink, boss a pixel from death, partner and me must both reload our weapons, smallfry spawns near boss, boss from 0,1 hp to max in the time we needed to reload, 9+ minutes instead of <8. but well its beth, testing what they implement isnt there strong point....
autokill enemys are mostly mr gutsys and mutant with autofire weapons in DO, at some days they just melt you with a dmg bug in seconds, some days they not even have the armor ignor and it happens.
I'm playing unarmed sneaky assassin when not doing big events or OPS. I'm close to lvl 150 and my build i'm still far from the ideal builds goal i have (Currently all good melee mutations except surrenal, a fast armor-piercing power-fist and Chinese Slealth armor, i aim for full bloodied in Secret Service or Thorn set someday, with Legendary perks maxed out.), but i can still manages and complete most OPS in a bit less than 8 minutes in solo.
→ Here some personal observations and tips :
Ideally, you want to check first what the OPS is in detail, change your perks then right before starting or joining, buff yourself with food according to your build, they stack unlike drugs and most of them last 25 minutes, more than enough for Earl/SBQ and an OPS right after for example, or the other way around. It's a + if you have carnivore or herbivore.
For melee/unarmed i use carnivore and i mostly eat food that up FOR/END and melee/unarmed damages, so Scorchbeast cooked parts, Deathclaw/Mutant Hound/Yao Guai/Molerat/Stingwing/Glowing steak.
For Uplink completely abandon all hope of being stealthy as the enemy will always come to you, regardless of ultra perception mutation or not.
For Encryption stealth is only really good against cryo or armor piercing mutation (Do small sprint between enemies to gain time without too much risk), for the rest you can just run and wreck havoc like in Uplink.
I have to agree that Armor Piercing is the most dangerous mutation, when the enemy faction have it, it's a matter of kill or being killed on sight, making OPS deadly for everyone, even heavy PA users are not so invincible, but tremendously hurt melee users when that mutation is coupled with Ultra Perception in big open spaces like Arktos Pharma.
The second worst mutation doesn't affect me, but it's probably the most frustrating for non-melee users, i forgot the name but the one where you can only finish enemies with melee. I even saw it coupled with the Group Regen mutation, must be absolute hell with only gun bashes.
Getting hit too much by Cryo is a huge lost of timer and can be a death sentence for non-PA users as using a stimpack on max stack or simply hitting an enemy take 6+ seconds. So prioritize enemies with fast automatic weapons.
If you're melee or there a lot of melee enemies with the Volatile mutation, simply use level 3 Fireproof perk.
Camouflage mutation is not an issue in Uplink but can be annoying in Decryption, i guess Berry Mentats can sightly help, or making noise on purpose to lure enemies, which is ok if they don't have armor-piercing.
Otherwise, the 2 best perks i use in every OPS are lvl 3 Serendipity and Ricochet, depending on your luck you may survive and tank armor piercing enemies and bosses a lot longer.
Oh and don't forget, a little dose of Psychobuff/Bufftats/Calmex/Overdrive (pick your poison) for the last objective + Boss can really make a difference, most drugs duration without perk is 4 minutes, so half Elder rank OPS.
But the ultimate strategy is to play in team, that way you'll roll on Encryption in around 4 minutes, and complete Uplink in less than 6 minutes most of the time.
And don't be afraid to get wrecked with junk on you, it apparently don't drop in OPS.
