Vault 96

Door ajar, went in and inside to investigate vault not open?I watch a video for the vault and there is suppose to be holotapes and dead bodies lying around. Is there a bug and how do I progress?

It's been awhile, but I think it was part of the Brotherhood main quest introduced in Steel Reign, if you go to Fort Atlas and do quests for them then you'll eventually get the Vault 96 one.

There are many places in this game, which are unaccessible or simply empty until you do the right quest.

and a big ass door thats closed in the 1st area inside so ya cant go in before doing that quest

The vaults 96 and 79 is the same no access is not complet the quest.
The vault 96 the quest the atlas.
The vault 79 the quest creater or fundation.
