They probably don't factor your existence into their game exits.

Ignorance isn't stupid. Just means you don't know something. We're all ignorant in many things. Ignorant lacks knowledge which can be fixed through education and conversely stupid lacks brain strength. :steamhappy:

you are not alone in the game world, so there will be also other buyers. now imagine someone needs to log off and has no time left, and he sees someone on his shop. so he decides to wait for him to finish the transaction. but just in the moment, when the buyer finishes his transaction, someone else comes and want to buy too. and even after the second buyer there comes a third one coinicidently. and so on and so on.

thats what happens regularily in the game world and means, that at one point you (seller) just have to decide on what point you waited enough. Therefor, there can be situations, where you just cant wait, then this is what happens to you. The seller just decided to not wait, maybe because he had bad experience with the waiting cuz the line of buysers never declined. Or any other legit reason. I suggest you dont take it personally.

also i remember another case, where you switch to another camp, if you have a second one. this is, when you reach your Caps maximum of 40.000 caps, but you know, that you have still some stuff for 2 -10 k in sale. If someone buys those high value items, the seller DONT GET ANY CAPS out of the sale, because the money gets deleted to nirvana.
That means, if someone deletes his camp instantly after you bought something, could alo be for his own protection due to MAX Caps.

I always check my camp before I log out. I try to be considerate if someone's hitting up my vendors.

Checking the map doesn't help if payers are crouched while using a vendor. I see players doing this all the time when i'm out and about browsing vendors. I always check before I log out but doesn't mean I have not accidentally exited on someone about to buy something.

Specifically to the OPs question, I would say I definitely see this more at camps that are quite precariously placed and will result in me falling and likely dying if the player exits the game. Sure some players just don't check, however some players delight in others misfortune too. The sheer amount of times that their base just falls out from under me literally at the exact second I reach the vendor cannot be completely written off as coincidence.

I'm not even sure how to reply to that... The original Hanlon's Law uses "stupidity" but I replaced it with ignorance, hence why that part of the quote was in brackets.

Perhaps it's his ignorance to Hanlon's Law

Who says I'm debating the quote? Critical reading is important. :steamhappy:

Look up the definitions of ignorance and stupidity. Do they sound the same to you? :steamhappy:

Yes a fellow fan of Hanlon's law :P

Mostly when I have the camp go I see you there, I just don't care

Some of the reasons are as follows

I have enough caps, I only had my camp up for personal pickup stuff, I wanted to access another camp, I was done on the server, I was done for the day, I wanted to drop you into the lake below my camp

You know typical stuff

This.

Many people are at their cap limits OR sell things that put them super near their 40k cap limits (for example, each time I sell a Pepper shaker plan, I gotta log off asap).

And then there's people that just like to watch the world burn. My advice? Always visit camps located in cliff areas, wearing power armor.

LOL. Not trying to be a ♥♥♥♥ but this seems like the perfect example of your version of the quote. I've never heard the quote and took your post the same way Zenventius took it. I thought you were using the words interchangeably instead of substituting the word.

Most dedicated vendors check their camp before exiting. That said, they may be buying low to sell high and hopping servers accordingly. Or they got too tired and passed out and the game boots them. Knowing that people shop your camp and logging off without checking is either a lack of caring or willful stupidity, which I am guilty of at times. Willful ignorance is stupidity. Playing with the impression that people rarely shop your vendor and never learning to check your camp before logout is neither ignorance nor stupidity, merely a lack of worthwhile community experience (so you could say that results in ignorance, but I say it's the willful stupidity of the community for not being more inclusive so that any given player would already know these things)

**Btw, love the handle OP
