is it just me or is this new update awful

im only level 45 and recently started playing and to my surprise its the second best fallout. Until this update that is. now even a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Rad Rat Pup takes 8 shots with a cross bow. Every enemy just SOAKS damage and fist ♥♥♥♥♥ me if there in a group more than 2. i liked the how combat worked before. " oh thats high level focus that" or " those guys are glass cannons better take care of that". now ALL OF IT IS just a slog of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. but maybe im the minority. i was fine with the challange before. now its just the worst

If molerats are killing you constantly, the only consistent factors here are you, and your character...

So, either the problem is that you are struggling to deal with basic gameplay, or there is a serious flaw in your character build, which has only become apparent now that enemies scale to your level...

Dawg your missing the point. if the fella was not having this problem then chances are its the updates fault. now every enemy takes like a million hits . unless your a tubby ass hat who looks up metas online. i like to play the game in my own way and before anything i tried kinda worked now it seems like i would have to follow a google doc to follow a meta and then have to see entiteled people like you just say, Get GUD Lol.

No, all it means is that he had a crappy build/gear before, and now its so bad he's dying alot.

Plenty of people aren't having an issue. It's not really meta to use one of the numerous methods to boost your damage and to pick one.

There's grenades for grouped spawn you encounter, wear your PA while you re-exploring the map, if you need too ... ! Plenty of tools to adjust to the situation ...

Perk cards are also massively important. See so many people neglect blocker for instance which is a MASSIVELY powerful perk.

I agree with the OP. I’m at level 52 maxed out in Rifleman and this new update is just awful.

It's not awful, but it's not good. One Wasteland just made it one boreville, and combined with the damage changes everything has gone back to a boring slog. Once I finish up the last few side quests I'm putting this puppy to bed.

This patch is burning my ammo, i am a power armor heavy weapon build(not bloodied), now every mob in the map take tons of ammo to kill. This update is making the game hard by burning your resource!!

Effectively, and i'm heavy guns-rifleman with explosives-anti armor weapons, i save a simple legendary pipe gun (explosive too) just to wander on low level areas to gather some basic resources, some people don't get the point...

If i want to be a pacifist guy who wants to build a nice camp, i'll stick at forest (near sutton station) but if i want a challenge i should go to cranberry bog to fight scorched beasts and overpowered mobs... I mean, i don't want to go full power armor with my op weapons just to kill some lvl 50 radroaches, molerats or bloatflies in the forest, it's just stupid af.

And yeah, there are the new supermutant gods in the forest who takes lots of ammo to kill, or the random assaultron who can nearly one shoot you doing that i'mma firing my lazar miles away.

Everything is a bullet sponge now, i'm feeling that i'm shooting rubber ducks instead of bullets...

thats me set up. how are you having trouble? i just went into the super mutant base and they did not feel bullet sponge

Explosive weapons aren't that powerful, especially when its on a crap gun.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one with issues now. I have a level 26 character, which seems really low level compared to many of you other players, but I just started noticing that an ant can take eight blasts of a combat shotgun and still knock me on my ass. Me no like whatever they did recently to this game.

Still you don't get the point... i'm saying that legendary pipe is just for low level wandering, so, for gathering some resourcer near my camp i will need to use my explosive/anti armor lever rifle or my explosive anti armor mini gun to kill crap enemies? you feel this is okay? if so, i don't get it too...

This is simple, everyone needs to go meta now, no more wandering or fun use of weapons, "use meta or go to hell", that's what u are trying to say :l this is not a git gud game.

Bottom line: 22 nerfed most builds. If you have a lot of OP legendary arms and armor, you might be fine- but I was fine without any, playing solo at level 45 with a .308 rifle (modified with a .50 cal receiver, suppressor, stock, magazine and so on); it used to take one shot (head) to take down super mutants up to fighter, two shots for a master, three for a warlord, maybe up to 6 for legendary warlord. Now a vanilla super mutant takes at least three head shots to down- and that's from stealth, with rifle perks maxed, sniper maxed, and stealth perks maxed. Now I can't gain assets fast enough to repair weapons (level 4 gunsmith) and make ammunition for them. I don't have 10k hours to devote to finding every synergy in the game. Why would Bethesda do this? Well, one possibility did occur to me: maybe there'll be miraculous upgrades available in the atom store- for a price. I can still make caps- but they don't sell a lot of the stuff you need at vendors. You have to defeat defenders and win random encounters consistently to find indispensable things like screws. Bethesda needs to find another direction, because it seems determined to bury a really profitable franchise by frustrating hell out of everyone but a few basement dwellers. There's a lot of potential here- but this"update" is flying that jet into a hillside. Levels now mean next to nothing- aside from pvp, because characters don't scale like the mobs do. If you want to do nothing but murder workshop developers, well, hey- paradise. Have at it. If they don't roll this crap back soon, I'm asking for a refund.
