Whatever it is, you don't need it. If you want it at some point in the future, it'll be there or on some player vendor.
As I have pointed out in my Steam review, this is the only open-world game I have ever seen that forces me to throw out 90% of items I pick up. Yes, I am hoarder, I pick up everything and with my mind-set without Fallout 1st subscription this game is simply unplayable for me.
And we can all get medals just for participating. YAY!!!
Market is what dictates prices and clearly there are many people with deep pockets who have the desire to throw said money away. 13 bucks a month? 100 a year for such crap as F1? You can sub to a real MMO for those money and get real value back! You can buy several fully functional games as well if you save from monthly subs! Well, to each their own.
Until these players decide F1 is not worth it, nothing will change. If people start dropping off their subs, the prices should lower accordingly, but this clearly isn't the case here. In short - its pointless to complain.
800lbs is plenty... Stop hoarding all the crap... If you aren't gonna use it, get rid of it...
many have only done a 1month which offers many benefits to those newbe, btw
playing well without fo1st is possible but needs time and resource planning. On the other hand, if you like receiving atoms, buying cool stuff and receiving gifts from store, that's a great offer.
I'd say the main disadvantage would come from mostly late game play, where players prefer to trade in items rather than the in-game currency. In this scenario, it doesn't matter how efficiently you play, it's not an advantage that you can really make up for. You're just physically incapable of storing the same quantity of these desired items as other players, and thus unable to effectively engage in some of the more desireable late game trades.
I think that even a physical and limited banking system would resolve a lot of those problems. Being able to have a secondary more long-term storage that you had to visit a specific physical location in order to access, and couldn't just be interacted with from the C.A.M.P. They could even disable PVP in the area and set up a secured trade system.
I have gotten Fallout 1st for 2 months now and it is undeniable that there are gameplay advantages with it even though it is mostly just convenience.
I went from 800/800 to 50+/800 when I dumped all my junk into the Stash Box during my first Fallout 1st month.
This freed up so much space that I can store legendaries, ammo and things for sale much much easier.
Is it game breakingly advantageous? No. However, there is no way someone can pretend to say that the Stash Box offers no gameplay advantage.
Coupled with the Survival Tent, as long as you don't get hoarderish with weapons/armors, it is very hard to get overencumbered for long since all you got to do is drop the tent and throw all junk into Scrap Box anytime and anywhere (except interiors and places with big no build zones), making it much easier to teleport away from danger (enemies or nuke zones) or going anywhere without needing to search high and low for a public crafting bench, train station or player camp with crafting bench.
Of course, a non-Fallout 1st member can simply just be more selective with junk and pick up only what they need but it does mean that he/she can't simply pick up all junk even if there is no immediate need and then use it for something in the unforeseeable future like in events such as Fortifying Atlas.
This means a Fallout 1st member can play much less constantly than a non-Fallout 1st member due to massive junk stash picked up in the past as opposed to a "gotta go search and pick up when needed" kind of forced playstyle.
I think if they split the Stash Box part out of the Fallout 1st subscription and lower the price for the Stash Box or make it free, Fallout 1st subscription number is gonna drop hugely because there is gonna be little benefit to buying it unless you wanna buy at least 1,650 atoms for the month.
