Fallout 76
This game's pretty good, why's it still get hate?
So I decided to finally plunge on this after years of the horror stories this game's been surrounded by and I'm pleasantly surprised. It feels like an improved version of 4 with the added bonus of mmo-lite elements. I've been looking for a game like this for a while now and have bounced off similar games and am really glad I finally went in on it. But I still see people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on it. Is it reputation or is there something I'm missing? Do people just hate Fallout 4 that much that the hate carried over to this one?

Sidenote, still can't figure out why people hold Skyrim up as one of the greatest games ever and the recent Fallouts get shat on as much as they do. They're basically the same game with different coats of paint on them. But I digress.

Yes, the game is really good now. The world is amazing, the quest are fun, the music is fantastic. The multiplayer system is very well done, It does fill like a Fallout with good multiplayer mechanics.

Yes, the game is bugged and might not work very well sometimes: it's Bethesda. It's the first thing we have to accept if you want to play Fallout.

Looking forward to the next updates
Disagree on quests - they are a chore and you end up doing the same 5 ones everyday for months: Raider, Settler, Photo, Scorchbeast DNA, Mirelurk meat. Day, after day, after day, after day. Is that fun?

The music is the same from Fallout 4 with some new tracks.

Multiplayer is broken. Items disappear, you have to tag an enemy to get xp and many times people don't wait on legendary enemies, there are hackers both in PvE and PvP. 3 of your teammates might find a dead enemy's corpse to loot at X location while it's not there for you. Unable to revive, unable to fast travel, jump world 5 times before logging in due to the space you chose to camp being taken, and this can go on for quite some time because their netcode is poorly designed.

I like the game, otherwise I wouldn't be playing. But there are some serious things to criticize about it, and abut Bethesda's focus on atoms instead of quality content and fixes for underlying problems - some of which have been there since day one.

There seems to be a train of thought here that if you like the game you have to "defend" it from those haters attacking it. And if you don't, you have to do it with a passion, nuking those "fanboys" out of the map.

At the end of the day it's your choice. I choose to embrace the good things and keep playing it, while being critic with the things I dislike so Bethesda can change them (even if I have little hope on that because their commercial practices are very clear on where they're going).

40% of the hate is from people who dont even like fallout and just pass on other ppl and youtubers views.
30% are from people who cant run it
30% are from people who like fallout and try to play 76, but it's not what they want from a fallout game.

You can even spot some "gamers' talking about thinks that make no sense, like, what they thinks it happens on this game.
Why is this game still getting hate. Here ya go.

has potential to be one of the greats but instead of updating performance this greedy company just throws ways at you to buy more stuff, ovr 700hours and since the start its gone backwards and taken 79% of our free daily and weekly atoms and throw a portion of them into this silly ledgendary run when i first played had 4 friends rolling with me now they have all gone because they hate this game now.and it had 72% positive reviews and after latest update its dropped to 70% games heading in a bad direction.
because it is not good
just mod as to mod to your hearts content just contact bethesda you can mod without a ban BUT......... they in exchange disable atoms and EVERYTHING from the atom store and your not to have mods that have atom/store items and your good to go as many other one kill everything,CBBE skins the works just drop bethesda line and have fun with the game modding. 100's of player have done so since release.

The game launched at AAA price point of like 50 or 60 bucks, was full of bugs, running on an outdated engine. There were dupe bugs, people looting the dev room, people robbed by hackers of all their gear.

Basically it was overpriced, buggy, poor experience, and the core gameplay wasn't fun. Oh, and no NPCs? Good job, Bethesda, you saved a few bucks on voice actors.

The game had npcs before wastelanders, no human npcs however. Still think the positives outweigh the negatives about the game, but yeah youtubers only point out the negatives. As I can see you never played the game.

Players was still playing the game today, without them playing from the beginning they wouldn't release wastelanders. Many that played the game hated the youtubers because they only searched for the negatives about the game.

Yeah, those crickets are annoying but atleast the give a lot of acid. Game bugs, not so much anymore. Less bugs than skyrim and fallout 4.

At this point I would say the only thing really wrong with this game is a monthly fee to use the scrap box. It's just blatant forced monetization, and you could have a free scrap box, and probably ammo box too which would just make it less tedious. It only needs major rebalancing since there is only really one true endgame build. But the upcoming rebalance might fix it who knows.

I see you pretty much ignored my post with the video attached. That guy literally gave a list of bugs and screw ups that Bethesda did with this latest patch including breaking the Wastelanders main quest. There are people out there that will give you unbiased information about the state of Fallout 76 and that unbiased state is not good.

You mean the bug they fixed that players didn't want to get fixed? Like building double walls to get wallpapers on both sides? Because thats the thing i heard about players getting mad about. Thats why the game got a huge review spike on patch day.

Yeah heard about the mainquest aswell, havn't done the mainquest since the beginning of wastelanders so it didn't affect me. That bug was from the old wastelanders PTS. Sometimes bugs come back, not the first itme. Just report the bugs, and hope they get fixed in the next patch. If no one reports them, they wont get fixed.

Have you seen some of those camps. I would be pist to. This is not something that you can just brush off. With that little bit of stupidity Bethesda may have just lost a large chunk of their player base. I mean imagine they came along and made a completely reasonable change to the game that caps your level at 55. The catch is you lose all the levels over 55 and they are not going to announce the change. Them patching that bug was that big of a deal. Their response afterwords was even worse.

Like I said earlier. It is not the actual game that is pissing people off. It is how Bethesda is running it that is pissing people off.
