SCREW THIS GAME!!!
Im trying to build my excavator armor but screws are seriously scarce... since im low lvl i cant venture on high lvl places, i know that you can find screws on... whitespring something? but still out of my league, so i just roam around the ash place ransacking locations for office fans and other junk that give screws... is there a not so high level location to find screws? i find like 5 screws in an hour... and thats awfull.

So... Please.... devs... SCREW THIS GAME! ppl needs screws!!

I'm not aware of how much you've played, but I myself forgot you can go to your junk tab in your Pip Boy and set it to component view where the game will highlight screw-based items, making it SO much easier to find what you want.

Whitespring Resort is a hurdle if you're low level, but I personally recommend any office buildings that have typewriters, battered clipboards, etc.

Best of luck, OP! :thumb:

I've never had to search for screws in F76 as I have always picked them up as I went and seemingly have loads of them, but in F4 I would look for toy cars, toy trucks and Giddyup Buttercups, so kids areas tend to have quite a few screws. You also tend to find loose screws in workshops and sheds so a run through Morgantown airport would probably fill your pockets.

Two Giddyup Buttercups can be found around the Tyler County fairgrounds for 2x3 screws.
Two New Toy Trucks can be found in a stall in the northwestern part of the Tyler County fairgrounds for another 2x3 screws.

So that's 12 in that low level area.

Although Sugar Grove might be too high level for you (it also has at least 1 Assaultron there) it is probably the best place to score screws as the place is littered with desk fans and clipboards which all give 1 screw a piece, but they are everywhere as that place is nothing but desks and killer robots.

Once you are in component view I think you have to select the component and choose "highlight" for it to start highlighting objects, then anything in the world that you look at will have a tiny magnifying glass next to it's name if it contains the component you highlighted.

use goggle find wiki page for screws wiki page tells locations. the morgantown area can give you hundred or so if you are actually trying to play the game.

Sugar Grove is a good place to farm screws early on.

Moleminers sometimes drop toys, those junk items contain screws. Super Mutants drop screws sometime aswell.

Well just highlight stuff with the component view, it works great. Everything was so much easier after using that. It will help me, get the scrap that I needed. And i won't fill my stash too fast with scrap I don't need.

You could always ask if other players want to sell you screws. Maybe they might even just give you some....

Scrap weapons and armor, don't sell them for caps. Sell crops and purified water for caps. Sell some corn and kepp some to make corn soup, you need boiled water also which you make from collecting dirty water ( go to a river and press R to collect) and wood. Go to a cook station to craft. Best food in the game restores food and hunger and a little bit of HP.
Also, if not scraping weapons and armor is not enough, go to your pip boy, under junk, press C and then mark the junk you need to find by hitting spacebar. Then, you will see a eyeglass everytime you hover over the junk that you marked. Good luck. It's not easy starting from the start.

i find screws all the time though not in large quantities. i guess it depends on how often you mod weapons. personally i only mod weapons that i am going to use.

the system in play works quite well here in that even if you can not extract mods from weapons/armor there is a quota of things you can sell so everything else is scrap.

Scrapping weapons doesnt give screws, hardly gives useful mats, mostly steel and wood scrap and i have more than enough of those, im always discarding steel when i reach the 2k steel as i dont see a lot of use for it, not to have 2k steel anyway, the other i also do it al ready, i have water on my camp so i just collect water, die and respawn on my lot to get a lot of water, then use radaway when i have plenty, but problem is still the same, not enough screws, specially because almost every weapon mod needs them.

You never stated which level you were.

I'd farm the Water Park, and the Fairgrounds as a low level. You'll find screws in any of the toy cars/trucks. Fans, typewriters, buttercup, globes (schools) are a good source. Next best option would be to just buy them in bulk. I'd hold off on modding weapons as a low level - you'll find plenty of upgrades.
