Unless you really want them, just save your atoms. I highly recommend weapon, armor, and power armor skins. Items look the same regardless of level. It gets tiring to look at.
so if you really want something now, grab it because we dont know when it will come back.
also when new things come out like the red rocket stuff. you dont need to buy it right away. many many times these bundles and separate items will go on slash sale right before they leave the shop ;)
ice box is fairly pointless. i bought one. i said cool ill put some degradables in there some wolf meat and some veggies..and forgot all about them and when i did recall they were spoiled and i think i use the ice box for a lamp and radio table now. yes it does slow the rate of spoilage... but limited amount of items go inside still takes satsh space and of course a bit of camp budget for the icebox itself.
if i could i would trade it back for half the atoms i spent to buy a plushie or some other nonsense item ill never place or wear.
I figured they used a cycle where the items come back around, but for the 'vaulted' items it just sounded like they are gone for good. I guess there's some hope they might come back eventually, then? I was thinking they keep it vague on purpose so that you impulse buy. I'm just not going to sweat it too much then and mostly go for the bundles so I can get more items. Unless an item doesn't come in a bundle.
Yeah, I'll keep that in mind. I been watching the power armor skins too. I'm only just starting to use the power excavator power armor, because its the first full set I have. Early on it wasn't as important to me since I didn't have anything to skin, and it seemed a waste of atoms to buy something I couldn't use in that moment.
Thanks for the imput.
That is a good point on the slash sales. I was thinking of holding off on the red rocket stuff since it's so new and still full price. Also, I had the same concern with what you described with your usage of the Ice Box. I think I'll pass on that one, I tend to carry all of my food items anyway and would probably just forget about them elsewhere. Thanks!
Good choice. Skins are an oddity. Backpack skins couldn't work on the "Small Backpack" until the last update. They only worked on the larger ones you get through an obnoxious questline. Some power armor skins work on certain power armors, but not all of them.
If you are not 100% sure about a skin, ask about it here.
But when in doubt about any purchase, google it. Especially bundles, since they frequently show pictures of things that aren't included. Be sure it includes what you want.
I was wondering about the larger backpack and the skins you can apply, thanks. Google has been my friend on a lot of missing info on this game lol.
Are there any skins that tend to be buggy and/or should just stay away from that you know of?
You can't sell or scrap anything with a skin.
Jet packs skins are weird. Instead of acting like a skin, they are crafted like a mod. However, you need to know the plan for the regular jet pack for the armor you are crafting.
Putting a skin on something adds an atomic symbol to it in your inventory. Stored power armor just shows up as "power armor chassis" in your inventory. So if you use multiple power armor sets, it could be beneficial to keep one without a skin to differentiate between them.
I do that.
use the inspect option when its in your inventory and rename the chassis to keep track of what is what
Tasty knowledge!
Yes! I do this too. I use it to label my weapons and armor so that I don't accidentally sell them. (Which I've done a couple times when in a hurry.) The only thing is that a lot of times you have to get creative to shorten the name, which will often have a given name longer than you are alowed to input yourself. I usually add the same character at the front of each item's name, so that they are all grouped together.
