Quick question. Is the "Experimental MIRV" better than the normal Fat Man?
I just got one and I don´t know what to do with it, should I just sell it or scrap it?

Not true as i got through that Glass Cave using said fat man. That many scortched that tight together.....Chinese armor and a fatman. They quite literally never knew what hit them. LMAO.

OP I think the question is how many projectiles will the mod give the weapon. Then it is a simple math question. I skipped the mod honestly. FM is a Oh Crap Moment weapon.

Scrap it.

If you aren't set up for explosive weapons, then the fatman launcher is dead weight. The ammo is ridiculously heavy.

You can always get another one later.

There is no such thing as a good Fatman. It's one of the great tragedies of Fallout 4 and 76. It should be better, as it stands, any ballistic gun is better, even a 10mm Pistol.

Same with the Missile Launcher.

Even the Godrolls of these weapons appraise for "Scrip only" so you can live in a delusion where the fatman isn't total ♥♥♥♥, or you can accept that it's useless and maybe it'll get buffed. Typically a Godroll Missile/Fatman is Two Shot, Bonus Limb Damage and 90% reduced weight.

Well in my stash I have: Fat Man at lvl 25 does a 721 dmg, thus Exp. MIRV at lvl 35 does a 301 dmg.

Damage wise its better yes, it looks like less damage but its times 3 because of the MIRV effect, but - and thats a big but - the range of it drasticly reduced to a point where you really need to watch to not kill yourself.

But why it doesn't mentioning the drastical total amount of damage in it's expalantion window? Like as: 12x301, etc

Because I just looked on the wiki and it mentioning that several nukes thrown by it.

So OP, I apologies for the mistaken and thank you TwinChops for the expalantion. So yeah, in that way, Exp. MIRV has more damage than the Fat Man.

I dont know why, because its bethesda and i guess it would have been ended as a shotgun because they're couldnt figure out how to make a arching projectile, so they did make the version we all know.

While explosives are fun to lob around, the biggest issue they all have is fairly low dmg or dps combined with massive weight and expensive to produce or hard to find ammo, which is a shame, plus, their damage perks are separate from heavy weapons, so you need alot of investment to make them viable in a weapon type that's hard to get and carry enough ammo to use.

A huge shame, as I'm pretty sure a maxed out auto grenade launcher is pretty much the scariest (ranged) thing in the game, shame the ammo weighs a ton :(

>Two-Shot, Explosive MIRV Fatman.

Fallout76.exe stopped working...

If I may add, the Fatman seems to work far better in Fallout 4, but in 76 it is 'unrealistically weak for some reason'. Specializing your Perk Cards for Explosives will help, but it is still oddly weak, to me (in 76).

The MIRV, as the abbreviation implies, splits/has multiple Mini-Nukes - but it reduces the effective range - they seem to fall/hit closer to you than a 'regular' Fatman.

It is up to you if you want to Specialize, but they nerfed the Fartman so bad in 76 for some reason, it seems to be not very worth it to use, after combining the weight drawbacks.... in 76.

Plasma grenades are stronger than the Fatman. It's a joke. Fatman needs to be reworked to incorporate an initial high-damage energy component (Thermal Pulse) and a lingering damage field like the Plasma Grenade (Which is what gives it its higher power) It also needs a radius expansion and I think it uses raycasts for damage, but the vertical axis of the raycasts are almost non-existant, which is why you can marsupial jump and avoid Fatman damage (And why small elevation differences provide immunity to the blast often enough to make it useless)
