Why do I feel so weak in this game.
Im level 48 and have some pretty decent gear and yet i feel so weak. Is this normal unless youre level 100??

I mean, we need some examples. What are you doing? Where are you fighting, and what is your equipment? The max softcap level is 50, so you're only 2 away. Anything beyond 50+ is a matter of your equipment and perk setup.

Also don't forget each zone has a range of levels enemy spawn as, the middle and east sides of the map being the biggest.

just get a bloodied build and even a brain dead lobotomized youtuber will find this game easy

Level doesn't matter beyond having a level 45 or 50 weapon. You need a weapon that provides damage bonuses (bloodied, junkie's, furious, two-shot) and a complimentary armor build.

So what would be an ideal build for a level 50 solo player overall?

Depends on your playstyle, I personally enjoy playing a stealth rifleman, though if you want to max out your damage potential, you'd be looking at some sort of bloodied build (the glass cannon build of fallout 76, high damage output, low survivability). If you like playing in power armour with heavy weapons then go for that. Once you hit 50, each level you gain will give you the option to either move a SPECIAL point (ie. -1 from Strength and +1 to Perception), or choose a new perk.

You can't really be a jack of all trades in this game if you want to be as strong as possible, you need to choose which weapon type you like and choose your SPECIAL points and perks to work towards that.

If I may summarize, for you and also for those not wanting to 'just go one direction/weapon' (most people usually suggest 'their favourite' (nothing really wrong with that))...

After you find a weapon or playstyle you like, you have to choose complimentary Perk Cards - for example, if you like a Shotgun the best (I personally don't like shotguns but many do), you pick Enforcer and Shotgunner and other 'shotgun related' Perks.

This will increase your overall effectiveness (including extra abilities like Stagger, extra Limb Damage, other related Perks to the weapon/build) and will make it a lot more fun (and faster!) for you, not matter what weapon+perks combination you end up like.

Its a very fast fire rate weapon, so it doesn't do 1000+ damage. Plasma caster can do 4k damage if its bloodied. But still melee can deal alot more damage if the player increase hes strength too much and use nukashine. Seen players deal 80k damage in melee.

Im a very casual player (I mean I dont specialising my character around a specific weapon type, only using the best available) at level 28, but enemies below level 45 or so are not challenging anymore, if they are alone. I prefers sniping everytime I can do, which makes things a lot easier. And consuming huge amount of psychobuffs/psychotats in close combat. Also I dont wandering beyond the Forest zone w/o. PA, because I havent really good lighter armour yet.
In F4 my characters becomes virtually invincible at around level 40. So I never felt myself subpar in Fallout games.
