Not really much of a point as workshop resource production is a joke. It's far more efficient to just go out and collect your resources then to take a workshop and have to keep defending it, keep revisiting it to collect it, etc.
You can get more resources in 5 minutes then you could from a workshop in 2-3 hours.....
Yea, they'd have to increase the speed of production by like 5 times to make it worth while i guess. I defend once for the plan reward and then leave, that seems like it's worth it
Yep i'll join to defend them for the plans, etc. Or take them for fast travel points.
Turn the World Workshops into 'teams' - where when a person comes within the 'range' of the Workshop, it has a pop-up that makes them "Select a Side" (if it's Contested) - if you have Friends there you can agree beforehand on which "side" to take. Then, everyone 'fights for the Workshop' within a period of time. With the Turrets of the Defending team, it gives them time to rally other Friends even, to Defend the Workshop... This might be fun!
If anything it should give the resources out to people that go defend it.
...and when everyone joins the winning team or has premade teams versus pick up groups....
I actually understood that Dex meant it in that way.
Not like "to all players active on the server", but only to the ones participated on the workshop defense.
It also doesn't matter in this scenario because the main concepts were actually "a timer" and the ability of the Turrets to add to the fighting (which the Attackers cannot do/use) - both giving the ability of Defense ("a fighting chance"), at least.
Best way to handle workshops, if you want them, is to capture them and leave. Return after a while to collect your loot and do not stick around.
Defenses don't mean much, really not worth the time.
Also, whenever you are crouched "stealthed" other players can't see you on the map.
Since this discussion has turned from claiming workshops under the current system into suggestions to change it I see no further point to be here.
