[HELP] Bug with "Strange Bedfellows" Quest

I got to the point of the quest where i was to inspect the back of the photo, so my map could be updated with the spot near the deathclaw to get the ai....but every time i read the message, the quest wouldnt update, i even tried inspecting the picture manually with the RS, nothing, when I clicked [A] to read it, it just opens the note, but the quest doesnt update. I went to the memorial spot anyway to kill the deathclaw and try and loot the container, no luck, reloaded, no luck.....I was unable to drop the quest so i dropped the picture, reloaded, went to the spot (davids room) to try and reloot the picture, it hasnt respawned, now i dont even have a picture and im stuck at the *read back of picture* phase of the quest. This is a major problem for me as the raider quest line is the main reason I am playing wastelanders. I need some kind of help.

I have tried with no mods, I have tried scanning and repairing game files, I tried on steam, as opposed to the bethesda launcher, I tried going directly to Meg to see if I could somehow skip this quest, I even went through the trouble (and caps) of trading for a new "Photo of Rosalynn's Memorial".........read that........nothing works.


Anything else I could try?

check you tube for a video and make sure you're doing everything. You tube saved my ass on a quest I thought was bugged but it was that I didn't know which button to push.

Just using the picture in the pipboy worked for me. No idea what else you could do, since you already tried my next thought of just going to the memorial.

You don't "inspect" (X for me) the picture, just click on it. It took me a week to realize this -.-'
