Whats the best way to farm lead?

Im always running out of ammo and lead is always missing to craft new one. ?

This. Ended up with over 700 lead scrap in like 15 minutes.

I went last night collect like 400ish ore.

Then since I have a scrap box I was able to smelt all of it at once. I got 1260 Lead from one fifteen minute run.

All these suggestions you see about gyms is just nearly pointless because those places are almost always stripped clean when I go through.

Yep, bears, crickets, and snallygasters. I recommend the bear side though.

Vault 94 was great for acid too, think that was something ridiculous like 400 acid a run.

As has already been mentioned. Lucky hole mine with excavator PA.

What hasn't been mentioned is getting the acid to smelt it. You can get that by server hopping at Tanagra Town in the mire. Go up the big tree structure that has wreckage wrapped around it. There's a small cave you can fit through near the top and there's usually like 10 cave crickets in here (5-6 acid per kill).

Theres a good amount of places that actually have extractors for lead that you can set up a camp at. I would look them up. Thats easy passive lead with the farming you already do

15 lead every 30 minutes (if you collect it every 30 minutes) is not worth the hassle of finding a server your camp spot aint taken :P

Not to mention the ones in the Ash Heap will be constantly attacked.
The one on the railroad tracks in Savage Divide has level 64 super mutant spawn next to it that will wreck your camp.

I have mine in Ash Heap with lead. My camp only have that Seedy Shed with crafting table, the rest are extractor, and I filled the entire budget camp with missile turrets

Which is great an all until a scorch beast comes by.

I am just pointing out that Ash Heap is like one of those well traveled areas that people are going to cause lots of mobs to spawn and aggro your camp.

I found Getting a Melee weapon bashing the robots near the starting area where Futile Event or w.e its called happens, The Flatworods Motel area and such, Tons of Cans, Paint and other things are around that area give decent Lead.

Lucky hole mine is pretty good, also the missile silos. But lead aren't hard to find, its everywhere. Just look for pensils, rat poison and paint cans.

You forgot toys, almost all the toys have lead paint :P

For the Ammo Factory: if they havent buffed that workshop tenfold since i visited it last in last year, then you can make more ammo with what a camp lead excavator gives you in half an hour than what the factory produce in several hours....
have no idea of this raider faction reward thing, maybe that works better.

From what I have been told the raider machine makes 300 ammo/hour that you choose.

You are absolutely correct about the ammo factory. The ammo made is randomized.

I think some take workshops like that just for the free fast travel point and the defense missions.
