The Steam version is the exact same as the Bethesda version. Link your accounts, and there you go, you can continue playing your characters from the Beth version.
the tech for some games is there, if the game is console first then ported to pc its even easier, and xbox pc crossplay happens because of windows. and using the same tools to develop the games.
sony dosent like to play nice with microsoft...and prefers a nice juicy deal well ahead of time to allow it on the ps.
so sorry, console players also couldnt get a hold of a pc version here on steam.... because of technical limitations according to bethesda. the character transfer thing that is. s thats all we basically did was swap launchers on pc and get our charaters moved over. which is funny because i uninstalled the game from bethnet on the 12th. installed here on the 14th had no isseus getting into game and my characters were all accounted for.
and for the record i think the server set up has a lot to do with why theres no crossplay...
^^^ speculating aside its hard for us players not involved in this industry at a developer level
to answer these types of questions....
bethesda has said nope and no plans in the near future... and thats all we can say for sure.
