Fallout 76
Wastelanders is a second chance. Let Bethesda have that chance.
I am quite a new player to Fallout 76 so my allegiance lies with no side at this time. I got the game for free and never played it until a couple of weeks ago because I was really really bored. i goofed off and did some stuff and had a little bit of fun every now and then. The community in the game is one of its strongest points, I literally had a guy come up to me, drop 2,000 shotgun shells at my feet along with a bunch of serums, and left only with a heart emote. The game is definitely buggy in some areas, damage not registering is still a thing that seems to have carried on since launch. Disconnects aren't rampant but can happen at random times ( I had about 3 in a week). I only state this so no one can use the argument that I am either a sheep who blindly hates the game or a blind fanboy who will defend Bethesda with my life. But, continuing onto the main point of my post.

Wastelanders is a chance for the devs at Bethesda to redeem themselves. Not Todd Howard and Pete Hines and the other executives, the devs. The people who sit at their desk making changes and working their ass off to get the game in a playable state. Let the devs have this chance. Not to forgive Bethesda as a whole, the executives are still greedy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but the people who put in the work. If Wastelanders has a horrible launch with a bunch of server disconnects (with a valid reason, not that someone DDOS'd the servers to stop people from playing), it has a bunch of bugs that are game breaking, and the changes are absolutely for the worst, then by all means flood the store page with negative reviews. Hell, I will be one of them too if its bad, in fact come back to this post in about a week and check the review section of my profile as proof. But, if Wastelanders is fun, bugs are few and far between, and the servers hold up, then why not leave a positive review? Not to support Bethesda the company, but to support the people who sat at desks working long arduous hours to fix the product?

Many will make the comparison that No Mans Sky was given a second chance, why not Bethesda? The answer is that No Mans Sky was made by a small indie studio who just didn't know when to say no, Bethesda is much bigger than that. So I will use much bigger companies that made turnarounds with their games for the better. Ubisoft turned around Rainbow Six Siege, The Division 1, and Ghost Recon Wildlands into great games after their horrible launch. Zenimax turned Elder Scrolls Online into a much better game after its rocky launch through free updates and paid DLC. Bungie was able to get away with releasing broken products twice in a row with Destiny 1 and Destiny 2, only fixing them through paid DLC. Even EA for crying out loud was able to fix Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Battlefield 5 (Although DICE should be getting all the credit since they are the developers) and get away with that.

This is Bethesda's chance. Give the guys behind the game that. Again, if it turns out horrible then by all means a negative review. But, if its good, then give them a positive one. Thanks for reading, stay safe.

Another contributor to the rage is just what Bethesda used to mean to a lot of people. You used to get excited for their games and Elder Scrolls and Fallout made huge impacts on people. Hell people STILL play Fallout 3-4 or Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. All this debacle with Fallout 76 and Bethesda's poor handling of the various incidents make it hard to give Bethesda a chance. Hell for the first time since the release of Morrowind I am not getting my hopes up for Elder Scrolls future release. Companies like Hello games don't have a longstanding history so when they ♥♥♥♥ up the backlash isn't going to last as long.

Definitely agree that those are some really major issues with it. It was more of a sandbox fallout game than a true fallout experience. Personally I would love to see a return to form with a much darker setting and much deeper RPG elements, while also retaining the combat of Fallout 4 as that was something that was really well done in my opinion.
Combat and exploration is the only reasons outside of modding it to be a horror game I have so many hours played. They did a great job in that regard thanks to Zenimax. However I can't see Bethesda making any kind of return to form, they've been dropping the ball since Morrowind and getting worse and worse with each release. I mean FO1 and 2 established that people were over the nukes and were living in functional cities again, yet FO4 has us building shanty towns and the great green jewel is like 10 houses big and covered in trash like no one ever discovered what a broom was. I have no hope for them.
That was one thing that bothered me a lot lol. We are almost 200 years past the great war and the place still looks like trash? New Vegas had whole cities and governments set up.

I guess there's Fallout 4: New Vegas and Fallout: Miami, right?
Miami looks sick! and have you seen the mod coming to FNV, Fallout: The Frontier? It looks so good as well.
I have! It looks really freaking well done too! People have been talking about it for the past 2 years!
Wasteland 3 does look interesting i agree will give it a try lol

I agree a lot here. I actually started playing Bethesda games as I was at a Toys R Us when I was younger looking for Skyrim, they didnt have it but the cashier recommended Fallout 3 saying its Skyrim but post apocalyptic. That's how I got into it lol. Bethesda has had issues in the past and will always have issues and that is why I choose not to pre order any games at this point. I have had my heart broken too many times and refuse to do so. I will always be on the lookout for Starfield and ES6, but I will not be pre ordering at any time.

I definitely want to. Have you seen the youtuber Rimmy? He played the beta and it looked fun! The graphics were definitely a downgrade from trailers but it still looks a lot of fun.

Well said alot of these Numbskulls think we are trolls but don't understaand we were once passionate about the game franchise i still love all the fallouts and i enjoyed skrim til they put in that stupid store but if you are pissed you are obviously a troll. Most of these people aren't true fans. True fans would have been gutted at what bethesda release and no humans was huge i havent seen one fallout without them it makes the world feel alive and it felt really lazy to not put any in the game as me personally i hate fighting Rad scorpions etc from the fallout universe it was always the human clans i enjoyed fighting.

True fans? so you were a true fan of what exactly?

Go into the game and you will find a fanbase full of mostly great people who will help you. Another guy helped me through 2 hours of the main questline because I was level 25 and the enemies were level 60.

That happens when they arbitrarily decide people are getting to level 99 too fast and gimp the XP rate within a few weeks of releasing the game, while not updating the quests themselves. Oops...

This was only a couple of weeks ago and the game is actually pretty easily. Look up the youtuber Kevduit and he has done a video where he beats the game with only his fists, without any perk cards or increase in special points, and a couple of others. You can beat high level enemies even if you are underlevel, the problem was the build I chose to do was a mistake big time lol. Shotgun only is not a smart move.
You know all bethesda game with fallout tag right? Todd said it's just worked. The exec were lazy prick enjoying their cash while community fixes and ironing bugs. Thank the community that most bethesda games still alive. The devs itself is either lazy or underpaid since it happened with the F4 creation club said it is tested by the devs but the omegalulzy they still had bug fixed by the community. Most bethesda games they just throw half baked games and waltzing with money while the community fix their game
Fallout is my favorite video game series ever 76 was a slap in the face. But I'm gonna give them a small chance. Though I will never get over them saying that the stash size was small due to technical limitations then make it possible to have unlimted scrap storage with a monthly subscription is what really turned even me a super hardcore fallout fan into a serious critic. I have been playing Bethesda games all my life I hope this is the update the game needed.
