Are hackers still a problem? Will it ruin the game?
So I've seen a lot of press about hackers being able to steal items from your inventory. Have the issues been resolved or is it still a problem? I'm really on the fence about buying this game and I want to make sure I'm buying a product that has grown from it's early bad reputation.

they stopped being a problem like 1-2 weeks after they appeared. Beth is fast with patches.
no it wasnt. and its not hacking, its bethesda and their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ coding.
i was playing on xbone with a friend and when i opened my inventory i was accessing his. while someone else in the server had mine. it was 3 months before it stopped.
on battle royale, maybe
on survival A.K.A normal mode, nope

The legacy weapons aren't bannable. They were obtainable by normal means. However, a full set of power armor with legendary effects is a different thing. And as far as I know, no one has been banned for it unless you advertised yourself in it.

so if you grind to get all of that stuff, you can be under suspicion of cheating if you deck out your character in full power armor and legendary weapons?

What im saying is if you are openly advertise you're looking to get these unobtainable things and abuse them, you could be banned. Not regular gameplay items you get while progressing

Hackers are still a giant problem in the game, and it will continue to be a big problem for the forseable future.

i agree with your post. I've spent a lot of time playing GTA online and there is cheating but I'm questioning why Bethesda got all the bad press,,,,
Bethesda has the worst when it comes to a fan base. They tend to throw massive fits when the game is not exactly what they wanted.

Look at how Steam had to change their review system when Fallout 4 base game was review bombed because a DLC had settlement content.

This is caused by:
They bought out the original company that created the franchise.
They did a horse armor DLC which people hated.
They subcontracted Fallout:New Vegas to Obsidian.
They tried a paid modding system years ago with Fallout 3, I think.
Then you have paid mods version two with Creation Club.
They created a multiplayer Fallout that part of the fan base wanted.

Every one of those "incidents" divides the fan base. Yet the hilarious thing is some of those same people despite all their ranting and raving buy every new game.

Right now the bug of the month is the fact that people have linked they steam account with the beth laucher and they do not receive the game for free on steam wich betha said its would be.
Where did you hear that? Oh wait I know where you heard it.

Today is the 11th. You were supposed to link by the 12th. Which implies that on or around the 13th or 14th they are going to give out the Steam copies to those eligible.

I bet you totally forgot about the little mouse icon people have if they own the game. Well nobody has that icon yet because nobody has received a Steam copy yet.
Like alway bored peon you right ;) .I didn't receive my free copy too lol
Hackers will and are a problem insofar they have interest in playing F76.
Its pretty much nothing you or them can do about it. They patch the game every 2 weeks so whatever loop hole they find they have it for 2 weeks at least and then they find a new one and try to hide it.
You know its not like just because you dont hear or read much about it that its not happening.
It is , just after a while it gets really boring for them cause they can do whatever they want and no one, NO ONE can stop them.

so there is little moderation on behalf of Bethesda in the current state?

People who have openly cheated got banned in waves. It happens often. Some people slip through the cracks though. As stated before you need to submit proof to some of the tickets to get action taken. Usually the ones that I have video proof on I get a response of action taken often.

You mean the developer room?
No I'm saying you seem to be coming from a "Pro-Bethesda" POV and can't look at this objectively. That's the impression I'm getting
Dude, you literally made this thread asking the players if cheaters and exploiters are still a problem, then when they told you the answer you were looking for, you are refusing to believe them.

As someone who isn't a player and also wants to know about the current state of the game your adamant to push the narrative towards "the game is still broken".

They banned people that opened tickets to show them bugs so others cant abuse them.
And then they didnt ban people who openly got reported multiple times.
Its a mess, they have no clue what to do.
Some smurf accounts got banned but never in waves and not so many as some always say.
They still can abuse the engine, just they dont openly show it anymore.
p.s.
They only banned some of the people who traded with cheated or duped weapons, thats a whole other thing. It hit a lot of normal legit people too and I bet they cant do anything about it cause their support just sucks.

Hacking 76 to sell items on Ebay and whatnot is a very easy and lucrative business for people outside first world countries so economy in it is dead forever. There are also hackers that can loot your character like a container (effectively invoking openactorcontainer console command on your character) and there is not much Bethesda can do about it because this and similar functionality is hardcoded into the engine. Have fun.

oh yeah I forgot about the ones that traded the best weapons you can get for real money. It was hilarious. 5€ for the TSE shotgun or 10$ for the TSE Ak47 everyone wanted.
at some point some guys were tossing them away like burgers. I mean if you want to start now with the game, good luck. lmao

so if you traded with that person and you had no idea how they got that, seems a bit unfair on bethesda's part.

The first hack was when people were trading with you,the next hack wich followed this one was people targeting you and stealing your whole inventory(equiped stuff too)Its still going on.Pretty much why they rushed private server but if you want to play peacefully with your people(like we do)its 171$ per years.
