Are mods from nexus allowed on public servers?
Cause I was thinking of getting:
Better Inventory.
RatMonkeys Easy Sorting and Tagging.
Icon Prefixes for RatMonkeys Easy Sorting and Tagging.
TZMap.
Enhanced Water.

Or will I risk a ban? Cause they are the sort of mods I use with F4 as well.

They are not officially supported but there are certain mods that people are using and not receiving a ban for. That's all I know.

Perm ban if you use mods for the MP mode

Use at your own risk for the campaign. I have been using only the motion blur fix since day of release and no issues.

Kinda strange that there are so many mods then if they aren't officially supported.

Not really strange. People can make whatever they want. Them not being supported just means Bethesda isn't going to help you if it ♥♥♥♥♥ up your game.

So there is no one in this forum using mods at all, that's hard to believe :p

You can use them, but if something happens or you get banned by not sticking to just cosmetics, then it's your own doing.
Big Boss May 22, 2020 @ 8:14am
Yes its safe to use. Disregard people saying you are going to be banned for it.

You won't

Obviously its not officially supported though. So if you have issues then you'll have to deal with it. Been using mods since the games original launch and haven't been banned along with my discord group.

Well the map mod (higher quality) and the bettter inventory + item sorting tags and better water are kinda cosmetic in my opinion. I'm not planning on using a "making lock picking easier mod" or anything. Oh well I'll see maybe Ill play it without mods first, I didnt use them in the free weekend either, I just noticed nexus had them.

Havn't heard anyone getting banned for using mods. Also there are not many that mod the game because there is a risk for getting banned if you use the wrong type of mods.

Im not using any mods, im waiting for the official mod tool for the game.

I have used them before, didn't get banned. It IS true what others are saying in that it isn't officially supported, and if something goes wrong there's nothing they can do to help you. (I don't think BGS, or any other company for that matter, can even legally say a straight out "yes or no.")

Honestly though I don't think it's anything a quick reinstall of the game can fix if that ever happens. The character's files are hosted on the server after all, not on your computer, and without an official API no one can really make the enhanced mods that would permanently effect characters anyway.

What you will get banned for though is cheat mods. It's common sense to know what mods these are. (Wallhack, aimbot, etc.) To the best of my knowledge, the FO76 Nexus has never hosted these kind of mods before. You'd probably have to do a little more "searching" for those, and if you find yourself having to do that, chances are those are the bannable mods.

The only reason I don't use them now is because I'm tired of having to wait for mods to update every time the game does, as well as permanently breaking some of my favorites. (Like the center camera mod.) And since FO76 is a live service game, the updates are a lot more often than previous games.

I think he was referring to Nuclear Winter as the "MP Mode"

The whole game is multiplayer though. Adventure Mode, Private World, Nuclear Winter/Battle Royale, and even the now non-existing Survival Mode.

If I recall what some have said in some other threads, I don't think they even "ban" you NW. It just says "modified game files" if you try and play and prevents you from going any further until you are completely vanilla.

I use Perk Loadout Manager, Better Inventory, RatMonkeys Easy Sorting and Tagging, SFE (to enable saving in game for Perk Manager), Old Style Workbench Repair, Power Armor HoloHUD and Improved Health Bars.

I have not had any issues while playing on public servers with these mods installed but I have never (and probably will never) played Nuclear Winter. After the last patch (Update 19) there was part of the patch notes a line that said if you are using 3rd party mods and you experience any issues please disable the mods and try again.

While not official confirmation that they allow mods, including that in the patch notes made it sound to me like they are fine with mods, they just won't make in official because of all of the problems (legal and otherwise) that could introduce.

All the mods I see used are client side. Inventory sorting, map, chat. Those are the big three I see discussed.
