New player, good CAMP location
So I am returning to the game after the mess of a launch and I am finding I like the game changes a lot but I do not know where to build a good CAMP so I thought I would turn to the community as Google is all over the place.

I am subbing so playing on a private server and I don't see that changing so my ideal spot would be a CAMP that:

-does not have creatures spawn inside it (as I hear can be an issue)
-has maybe double resource collection spots
-access to water
-doesn't look horrible

Not sure how realistic the above is, and I know some people may want to keep their hidden spots private but I would argue that at this point most of those great spots are taken right? I am playing private so it is no issue. Thank you in advance for any and all replies and help.

Happy gaming.

I don't find that I need resource collection.

My #1 spot always is near to a merchant and legendary scrip machine, near to water, is mainly flat and has dirt for crops. I like a spot by pleasant valley atm, since it gives me vault 76 in the west to travel to for free, and my place in the central east.

usefull double resource spots and none enemy spawns? dream on, even most single resource areas cant be without them.

many single resource spots already need more than a little work to build something there, making it look good takes hours even for the basics (dont expect flat buildground. better get used to build at a hillside, with all the foundation quirks and messes the camp build system throws at you there)

counting in Water too into the double resource wanting and we get noneexistant possiblity for that. so its double resource or Industrial Purifer, not both.

and last: about what kind of resources we talk here in the first place? taking into account you dont count water as one.

i always build my camp near a vendor near the middle of the east side so that ive got a free travel point on each side of the map to reduce fast travel costs as for anything it becomes secondary
idk I just certralise my vendor at whitespring :P

Put the camp near a resource location like a scrap pile so you can put a extractor there. You can get purified water anywhere, you don't need a water source. Try to have the scrap pile in the edge of the camp not in the middle. Middle section of the map is good too, so you have a closer location to fast travel too. Also don't build the camp near a enemy hotspot. Never build it near a fissure site or areas where scorch beasts patrol.

Use this website to help. You can filter resource locations. https://fo76map.com/

I started from deathclaw island location, easy way to put few turrets there across the beach and farm 100% spawning deathclaw for free black titanium, gears and some items.

Later transfered it down the line where there is the spot near water with free junk pile on the ground (this place also has no enemies nearby, I was attacked like twice for 30+ hours by some stray low levell ghouls)

Will probably transfer it somewhere closer to Wendigo spawn location in the future for free screw farm..

If you're a new player, then just throw down your camp in the Flatwoods area. There's water, a few ore nodes, wood and any enemies that might show up are low level.

As you level up, just pay attention to the landscapes you come across and scout for new areas to move your camp to that are better than flatwoods.

Avoid the common areas in Flatwoods like near vault 76 or the wayward. Depending on your play style, I would personally recommend placing yiur camp at a resource node like acid or lead since this is ammo and smelting resources.

If not, place your camp with access to water and dirt so you can farm crops. If you place in the right place, you won't need to worry about defense turrets and you can use that budget for other things

the game drowns you in acid, and if you really cant find any there is a workshop dedicated to acid nodes
