Are mutation serums permanent?

There are mutation serums you can buy with the Enclave but they are super expensive. I want to buy one but I'd like to know if they are permanent? If you take a Rad-X, will it disappear?

Also, can you buy 2 serums and use both at the same time?

I'm less worried about not having the perk equipped. What happens when you leave the game? After you come back on (probably on a different server), do you still have your mutation serum effects?

read carefully. starched genes is meant to keep your mutations. if you take it off and forget to put it back on thats on you. if you leave a server you return in the same status as you left.
unles you decided to use a rad away and then take the starched perk off while its effects were still going... again thats up to you to pay attention to.
the only reason to take the perk off is to apply the serum then go right back in and put it back on. if drinking multiple serums drink them one by one see the effect take place then when all done put the perk back on.
dont drink and leave the server before putting starched genes back on.

starched genes. kepp it on unless you wish to apply a mutation. remove it for the time you are drinking the next mutation then right away put it back on.


if you want to keep a mutation forever...put starched genes on. and keep it on. dont take it off if your under the effects of rad cleansing.

No need to worry. You keep the mutation as long as you don't do anything in game to remove it. Its not affected by leaving the game.

Why is it necessary to unequip the Starched Genes perk when drinking a serum? What happens if you leave the perk equipped and drink a new serum?

You waste the serum. The whole point of Starched Genes is to prevent your genes from being modified. So if you have it equipped, you can't be further mutatated. And you can't lose any mutations you already have. Its locked into place.

The older players have accumilated the caps to waste on serum recipes. They also have no problems farming the fluxes to make the serums.

Serums are usually in the 400-500 range. This is because they can be sold to a vendor for like 350 caps.

You also have to consider that right now a lot of people are scared to use their vending machines as well.

There's a major bug with player vendors.

I found a camp selling stacks of them for 100 caps each, was beautiful. Already had all my mutations but bought spares just in case I want to change my build.

I don't know if this was pure luck but I found 2 players who sold the 2 mutation serums that I wanted (marsupial and speed demon) for 500 each. I'm guessing that these are the most popular mutations and that's why I was able to find them fast. I didn't see any other serums they were selling. But another mutation I'm looking to get is the Healing Factor serum. Is that a rare serum to get? Because if it is, then I won't waste time looking for it through vendors and just buy it at Enclave. Have any of you seen this Healing Factor serum being sold by vendors?
