WTF is with the Encryptid Event (Imposter Sheepsquatch Bot)
This event is extremely OP. How is it that the boss to this fight just straight one shots people that are level 300+? I dont understand it. Really wish this game had friggin TEXT chat in game like every other MMO.

Agreed with both, event sucks atm despite I like it xD.

ISS melts more than ever, and the lack of text chat makes it worse.

In my last run....I activated the 3rd pilon, and some bloodied bs build instakilled it before I could even tag it...so yeah, I helped complete the event, but got my loot stolen lol

I was at this event the other day, and died a second before the event ended. It wouldn't let me respawn or do anything. I had to alt-F4 out, and lost all rewards/Loot. felt pretty lame.

and yeah, assaultrons are crazy OP with their crazy eye beam attack that seems to at times go through objects to melt my character in 2 seconds.

high levels are mostly likely using bloodied build so they are extremely squishy on the assaultron's laser as well as the pylon's damage.

Whenever you activate a pylon, you will aggro the stealthed assaultron.

It's a good event idea, just in the wrong location.

Should really be somewhere with more objects to kite ISS around or break los.

As it is now it's a stimpack event, success is dependent on how many healing items people are willing to burn. Or too much on specific builds (not good for a public event).

If it weren't for The Fixer plans no one would probably bother with it, a case of pushing yourself for reward over enjoyment.
Imposter Sheep is soloable by non-meta builds. I agree it's probably the hardest encounter in the game, but that's only because of the arbitrary pylon mechanics.

Bosses are literally supposed to be resource burns btw. So the criticism that "this is just a stimpak/healing burn" means the game design is functioning perfectly. Queen is (Well, should be, depending on what meta weapons you have) an Ammo burn, but she's not a healing burn since she doesn't hit very hard.

These are deliberate design choices, and changing them will make an already laughably easy game even easier. And you can't even pretend like this is new, the idea that RPG difficulty is based on resource attrition and not moment-to-moment gameplay is as old as the Pen and Paper era. So miss me with this "y cant i 1 shot da boss????" "y boss make me us stimpak ???? ?? waaahhh"

I agree it's a tough event. But I'm not sure text chat would help. In an event like this, voice comms are the best way to handle it. Because by the time you take your hands off the keys and type out a message telling someone to get on a pylon or stim someone or something. It's going to be way too late.

Much easier to say "on your six!"

Well seeing as most people hardly ever use the in-game VOIP and the fact that there's no form of text chat makes this game pretty much absent of all communication. I think I have only met one single individual that used Voice comms at their house. Now, I only have close to 150 hours in game, so I'm sure someone with thousands of hours has encountered more VOIP users than myself, but 1 person over the course of 150 hours?

This game needs text chat.
(regardless of what your opinion is on communication DURING events, text chat would help facilitate organizing for such events, across the server you're on, instead of people needing to go to Steam forums or Discords that nobody else knows about to organize for events).

The lack of VOIP use across PC gaming in general is astounding to me though. Like how a heavily team-based game like Overwatch will net me one VOIP user every 10 matches or so.

I fail you see how burning through Stimpaks is balance in some way, when all it takes is less than 2 seconds of that eye beam to take you from 100% to 0%. A stimpak isnt going to save you in that situation, it's just going to waste your stimpak for no reason whatsoever. This boss shouldn't be capable of killing anyone that quickly, when I can go do SBQ and take no damage at all, when attempting to take damage at that.
Just watched one trying to do it on my server alone ;)
When I joined he had 3 mins left. Poor guy.

Ok now to the basics, this is is a group effort.
Best have 6-8 people for it. You know look on discords and such.
If you really must solo him there are youtube videos for it but thats only if you are a Dark Souls type of guy. Its way faster and easier in a group.
Good luck

Ya killed everyone 15 times until it failed

Quite an easy event when you have the ability to read.

Just put three poeple on the Poles so the Sheep loses his shield, then kill it.
Vyvian May 6, 2020 @ 2:49pm
Bloodied Builds aren't made for fights with actual mechanics and it seems that's what everyone's obsessed with currently. Even if the mechanics are braindead simple it seems people can't deal with it in this fight.

I'm not even running a "Bloodied" build on my character, he's actually more tanky than anything, but I still get lasered to nothing in all of 2 seconds with this boss. Now, i'm by no means saying I'm the tankiest of tanks, I'm probably lacking some much needed Energy Resistance, but this boss is ridiculous no matter how you spin it.

Did i mention anywhere in my post that people were having issues with activating pylons? Anywhere at all? No? Ohhhhhh maybe because NO ONE was having issues with activating the pylons. Amazing. So much for your "ability to read," eh?
Scy May 6, 2020 @ 3:03pm
Unrewarding and overrated event. Nobody would do it if it wasn't for the Fixer. Just buy the plans, they are not even that expensive.
