This was a cheap shot, I lost 7 turrets there.
The 4 I had, 1 I picked up in the underground, and the 2 the OP mentions in the same room.
We've also seen this frustrating moment of the Refinery mission.
We're working on something to automatically recover the sentries and unconscious marines during this sequence, as you are not warned of the end of the mission.
Sorry for this harsh moment.
Gosh darn, did not expect a developer response on one of my threads.
That's very nice to hear. The problem with unconscious marines didn't even occur to me and i can see that being far more annoying, altough i am wondering how it's possible to lose people at that part when you have a wall of cannons lined up.
I took a screenshot of my mine layout but I can't seem to post it here.
As for whether you can do it without the guns, using my method of an hour's worth of minelaying, yes, although I strongly suggest you use at least 2 or 3, preferably one being set to suppression (Gives like a 75 degree arc for the suppression effect - using a marine only gives you maybe 20 degrees). That way you can leave with 3 or 4 guns. The next mission is the Otago defence, and having a few sentries is very useful there.
By the way, you can use all your guns in the first wave, but after Marlow starts yapping is when you can pick up a couple of guns. The cut scene happens pretty soon after the 2nd wave starts.
There's also all the xeno samples on the ground, including a Crusher, which we have no chance of getting.. Seems a bit unfair.
