Please perform the following steps:
1. Navigate to Local Disk (C:) > Users > your Windows username > AppData (*) > Local > ASF > Saved.
2. Delete the Config folder.
(*) The AppData folder is a hidden folder and to view this folder:
Open File Explorer, click on the View tab and tick Hidden items.
3. Run Steam and click Steam (upper left) > Settings > Downloads.
4. Click on the CLEAR DOWNLOAD CACHE button and click OK.
5. Steam will restart automatically.
6. Right click on Aliens: Dark Descent under LIBRARY > Properties.
7. Click on LOCAL FILES > VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES.
8. Run Aliens: Dark Descent.
NOTE: This process will not affect your currently installed games, but you will need to log into Steam afterwards.
Try capping framerate to 60.
It is not.
From FE's support desk.
1. Right click on the Windows Start button > Settings.
2. Navigate to Gaming (on the left) > Game Mode > Graphics.
3. Select Desktop app under Add an app from Custom options for apps.
4. Click Browse button.
5. Navigate to Steam > steamapps > common > Aliens Dark Descent > ASF > Binaries > Win64.
6. Select AliensDarkDescentGameSteam-Win64-Shipping.exe application and click Add button.
7. Scroll down to the games list.
8. Select Aliens: Dark Descent > Options.
9. Tick High performance GPU: NVIDIA (blah blah)
10. Click Save.
11. Run Aliens: Dark Descent and test.
Good luck, and if this doesn't work I advise contacting FE support yourself they are very helpful and tend to reply within 48 hours! And will continue to reply/talk with you until the problem is resolved!
