Frankly, I'm tired of them trying fps, because they can never seem to get it right. Aliens are too fast as it is. There's no way to do it without it seeming like "Aliens." it's been 35 years. It's time to leave it behind. I think the reason Isolation succeeded was because it was different and didn't rely on fighting the aliens so much.
Now if they want to try something that's actually new by building on Aliens it would be to do something like Berserker. Aliens just isn't a very good action game on its own, and is better in the horror/suspense genres. Hoping to fight them large scale if you aren't a predator or something seems hopeless.
I'd be all for AvP2, basically the same game but on Unreal and with better netcode so multiplayer actually works without having hitboxes all over the place.
The alien games you have out there are ALL fps games. (okay, fireteam elite is TPS. But that's almost the same)
Why a new one again?
If they don't, I wouldn't expect any Alien FPS in the future.
