What happens if I ignore most of the datapads?

What happens if I ignore most of the datapads?
What do I gain from collecting 100% datapads for each map?

Most datapads explain more of the story.

Few datapads also activate secondary objectives which give exp if completed.

Some datapads can only be collected once the relevant secondary quest is active.

As far as I know the collect all datapads achievement is still bugged......

Nevertheless, it's still possible to get that achievement through workaround.

Ok then I can speedrun the game the next time I run out of days.

It takes so much time to clear every room on each map.

i collected all of them (need to downgrade the game for the datapad achievement) there is no reward in game for collecting them

the game is actually a little shorter when you ignore them ; some of them need you to go out of the way of objectives to get them and avoid aliens as well

Green datapads can be ignored most of the time apart from just a couple of exceptions.

Yellow datapads are part of the objective and must be picked up if you want to complete a mission.
