tutorial bug

I've been looking around and I'm finding posts similar to what I'm dealing with.

I've finished Dead Hills, gone back to the Otago, gone to the laboratory, gone to the barracks, and when you have to choose and upgrade for your marine, i can't go past this point. I select the upgrade and the window remains telling me to choose an upgrade. Every other part of the screen is unable to be interacted with.

Like I said, I've looked around and I'm seeing posts from months and months ago that don't have any solutions.

Please help.

That is a random bug reload an earlier save before you extract from mission and try again.
Elevators also create saves on normal save mode so you can use one near a APC spot.

If you play on 2 save system ALWAYS backup your save folder after each mission FULL completion but before starting the next new mission to avoid any random soft locks.

No it's not. Nevermind that plenty of people across multiple platforms are dealing with it, but I just tried the last 4 saves and still wound up stuck at the same place. It's been a known bug since at least last summer and the devs haven't done anything about it.

Ok, I have a stupid question: Do you press and hold the mouse button to get the upgrade?

You always hold the mouse left click for a few seconds to make an upgrade or purchase.

I have the same issue and yes I click and hold the left mouse button until the chosen upgrade is purchased. The tutorial overlay that stops you from being able to click anywhere other than where you are supposed to for the upgrade tutorial, does not however go away even after visibly acquiring the upgrade.

Anyone got anything useful?

I have the same bug.
Played for hours before first extraction. Back at the ship I upgraded marines w. the 1st. common skill, assigned nurse to wounded soldier and followed tutorial/story to barracks choosing first perk for marine.
Tutorial overlay fails to register and go away after perk is chosen, preventing progress.
Ive re-played other saves, carried on playing -extrating later- but having same issue every time I return.

Game was fun tho up until this point, but sadly its a game ending bug.

I had the same problem, searched a lot and I found this guy on Reddit telling that he solved the problem lowering the resolution to the minimum. It worked for me too, just be sure to lower the resolution, graphics and square generation to the min. Hope it helps.
