Is this a real-time isometric shooter?
If anyone's played Hellsign or Thunder Tier One, I'm hoping this game is like that. Not isometric turn-based like Xcom, but real-time. IMO its a genre that hasn't been fully explored.

It's a top-down tactics game. You do not control a single character, you control the entire squad as a single unit. So kinda' like what you ask for but more like XCOM in real time rather than any kind of a shooter.

i just watched the trailer and it looks like you don't have direct WASD control of the characters. You point and click where they should go and what to do. Not quite what I was hoping for but I'll reserve judgement when the game comes out.

Yeah but this looks to be much more intuitive and action focused. I am getting darkest dungeon vibes.

Ign said you can micromanage the marines. So heres to hoping you can, instead of controlling a blob of marines

it isn't tactic game like X-COM. realtime Tactic game is UFO:Aftermath. or Jagged Alliance 3 or 7.62

this is real-time isometric shooter the only difference that your unit is several characters acting as a single.

looks like "micromanage the marines" means you can choose who will throw a grenade.

but not who will stay at position A for controlling one gate, and who - at position B for controlling another, what tactical game is usualy meaning

Yes i think so now too.. what a dissapointment. Micromanagement is half the fun.. and adds to immersion and makes you care about single marines. Like "who do i leave frontline where a possible attack is coming from and who do i place behind them in cover position"

I think we might all be pleasantly surprised about this system. The good thing is they are doing something fresh for this IP and I am very exited.

I was hoping for an X-com style Alien game tbh. I'm a little skeptical of the approach they're going with but I'll reserve judgement until after the finished product is released.

This game gives you 1 choice and that is a single blob with no individual maneuvering or positioning.., deciding how and where your blob shoots is not a great example of Squad Based tactics. Extremely disappointed that they chose this mindlessly simple approach. So much potential replaced with we paid for a license, let's just make it cheap and simple, the kids will love it.. oh look, Super Cool Aliens, pew pew pew pew pew and more pew... Awesome brah blowed em up real good.

I am not a kid and I love it.
Also I am waiting for your game which will be better than this one.

Likewise, I'm enjoying it a great deal. It maybe is a little bit overstreamlined when it comes to movement, but if they wanted it to be at all practical with a controller (Console/Steamdeck) then they couldn't really afford to make it much more complicated or granular. It was never going to PC only, so concessions have been made... but I'm enjoying it on my sofa, so I'm good.

The bugs/issues do still need some work, but I haven't encountered anything truly gamebreaking yet.
