Is this all point and click?
Or can you move squad with keyboard and click or use controller left stick to move?

Judging from the trailers, looks mostly point and click

and for controller, it seems you have to move the area pointer with your thumb stick and press a button for the actions. yush, a point and click game.

for games like that, i prefer mouse and keyboard.

Seems RTS yes! Point and click is a whole different genre, you have time to think before dying, doesn't seem the case in here, stay sharp and frosty or you will play with your marines life :P

With custom weapons, perhaps you can recover your gear left behind when you go in with a second squad. It shouldn't be gone forever like in Xcom.. Unless it's stolen by the humanoids. We know they have a faction outside of the hive. Maybe the other ones. I doubt the humanoids that live in the hive care about left behind weapons, but who knows.

I know, it's not possible for the most games but games like XCOM, which are available for mobile devices and have P&C, are really awesome on a big tablet. I mean, i have it on xbox and pc but i always prefer to play it on my tablet because the controls are so "natural" - After all, you kind of point your finger at the positions.

This is a bummer, doesn't stop me from wanting this game, but I thought it was a twin stick shooter. That seems like it would be a better fit for a game in the Alien universe.

You say that, but really, only Resurrection was action focused. They even let the Aliens into the light so you could see everything. The Alien universe is much more fitting for horror and suspense, and so instead of a twin stick shooter, a tense strategy game focusing on squad tactics seems more fitting to me.

And I don't know why you guys keep calling it point and click. LOL Point and click is an established genre. Workarounds needed for a controller variant does not change the genre. We know it's a real time strategy game.

Utterly fascinating, tho the mistake maybe was on your side? This game was not exactly a mistery reveal.
Also I would wonder which dimension/ decade you come from, if a "twinstick shooter" features into the Horror and suspense genre. We do have Alien:Isolation in our world. Maybe play this...

I edited before your post, but I wanted to set you right. I always was against the twin stick shooter. You can check every thread if so inclined. The mistake was in the typing here only.

EDIT and now that your post is completely offbase, I guess you should delete the whole thing. lol

Honestly? I just come from a barbeque where I eat ~2 pounds+ of jerk chicken. I give zero ♥♥♥♥♥ about Steam forums and surely I wont bother with any ♥♥♥♥♥ I wrote here.
Most likely you were right, and I was wrong.
(I just hope they dont release a dumbed down Xcom. That was already dumbed down to the bones...)
Narrowmind Jun 16, 2023 @ 12:39pm
Yeah, fair enough, I really hope the same.

Is controller even viable for a game like this? I really wanted to use one or get it on console
