Would have thought maybe he meant its odd how you clearly meant too be able too lose marines and suffer the consequences of losing them, but losing all of them forces load (ie requires at least 1 marine to extract) which honestly I do feel was more of a technical thing and not a gameplay choice of theirs,a s it does not make sense, but them being lazy and not adding a cutscene saying they all dead... we pulling back and then play scene of vehicle returning was too much.

(technically above is also doable for most part, just load and get all but 1 killed then extract... though then you either have too remember too not use the last 1/ headcanon how they lived/ waist a day-marine spot killing them off which all will be a bit odd).
You don't magically get more. After the first few missions you have a set number and sometimes you can get extra through events but no they don't get automatically replaced.
