When do you get the psych ward?
I'm on the second map and have a group of marines with traumas.. but no psych ward unlocked. When do you get that?

Think the PCU was after completing 2nd map. So you're close.

If I may suggest, try to keep the stress level at below first 100% ideally (which is hard without reprimand on sergeant lvl 6) or never let stress reach tier 2 fully or 3, because then you will still get 2 or 3 trauma points on mission completion. As you get the trauma point(s) for HIGHEST stress level REACHED during the mission, not the last stress level with which you finish the mission. If the highest ever was 1 (up to 200% stress which is tier 2), then only one trauma point will be received.

If I get up to 100% stress, rest it away, and then get 100% stress again, I get two trauma points.

That shouldn't work like that, from what I noticed it's as I described and that's what is stated in codex. Are you sure about that? Because then it's not working as described.
You get them soon

It was during the previous patch. I had one coward, so I ended up resting with everyone in 80s and 90s with her at 2% of next step (this happened twice). When the game forced me to return to base (Dead Hills makes you go back to continue the story), she had two trauma points, and everyone else had zero.

Alright, that's super surprising. Because I reached level 1 several times (during last patch as well) and got 1 point, from what I remember. In situations like these I would prefer to test things out. Gonna try it on a secondary save some time later.

EDIT:
Double checked it on my nightmare save. Got everyone from 0% to ~140% (stress level 1 reached), rested to ~40%, got them to over 100% again, rested to <100%, extracted. +1 trauma point to each. It is working as explained in codex.

Ah, just came back to say that I can't reproduce this. Either it was a bug, or I'm crazy.

My bad.

I'm hearing the motion tracker in daily life and infrequent nightmares, psych ward needed from the start

You unlock the Psyche ward after completing Berkley's dock.
(second map, first ''real map'' that's not tutorial heavy like Dead Hills)

It's fine, as long as the game works as it should :)
