Not many people have finished this game on Nightmare.
This is a really hard game and I just love when they make it a challange for the gamer. Have seen alot of people posting in youtube playing on medium. That's not a challange at all this game should have been created for Nightmare only! This is a super fun game. Love that they use the Iron man mode aswell "No one can hear Them Scream"

If you finish the game on Nightmare you get the awards for Hard and medium.
The award Perfect Organism, only 0.8% have unlocked this.
The Nighmare mode has the score of only 0.6% that have won the game.

Would love if they made this game alittle bit more like x-come where you can continue play the game. The story is super good and i really looking forword for more content to this game.

Why even bother poking at other people.......
If they enjoy easy / medium / hard...so be it.

That's the whole point of having several difficulties. People test it out, find the best for their liking and as long as they enjoy the game it's great. Having the elitist approach is stupid as it limits others to enjoy the product. Considering that the game is, by average standards comparing to other games, not an easy one even on story settings, we should be happy that we have a quality Aliens franchise game that more people can experience and hence provide better financial results. So we might get more products for already rarely looked at franchise.

It's not about the achievement or challenge for everyone. Yet having a difficulty that's really hard (in the right way) is fantastic nonetheless. Someone likes to start from hardest and see if they can manage, others build their skill/confidence up to be prepared for it, others play just for the story/atmosphere, then there are completionists that will go through as many times as necessary to get to experience everything.

Totally agree with you mate

I also want to point out that there are currently a huge amount of bugs in the game, several of them leading to soft locks/bricked saves. So some people are just waiting for that to get sorted out. Completion of the game at all is extremely low.

Not everyone is a masochist.

I made it to mission 11 on Nightmare but decided to put the game down until more patches come out.

I'll pick up the game again and finish it on Nightmare once it's in a more polished state , in which I'll start a new campaign

I'm glad you felt the need for validation here, good to see it took you more than double my hard difficulty playtime to finish the game despite how slow I took it as well alongside many mission resets; must have sat there replaying every encounter until you got it perfect! Too bad you couldn't find any YouTube play-throughs on nightmare or you might have been able to finish it quicker, eh?

Old school gamers in general love really hard games. Most of new gamers want to beat the game in half a day and then complain about how bad it is.

i chose to go medium because a) i am rly bad at x-com games and b) i wanted to get to know the game and it's mechanics before i go into nightmare and get "my a1ss kicked".

i will definitely go for 100% and can't wait for the tense moments

Sure if you want to play it in easy mode and then you finish the game in under 30 hours, are you happy? Or do you want to pay for a game and spent over 100 hours to finish the game? Do you see my point? You get more money per hour if you increase the difficulty on the game.

Gah, you remind me of my dad when we went to rent videos when I was a kid. "Dad, can we get this one please!?" Dad looks at the box... "No, it's only 90 minutes long, bad value for money."

How long it takes you to complete a game is pretty far down the list of factors used to decide if it was worth the price or not.

Is this a job instead of a game? where you get paid more when you go overtime?
Doesn't matter when a clear at xx hour & b clear at yy hour.
When both are having fun, the story ended there.
Longer playtime doesn't always translate into more fun anyway.

Anyway, i don't see any point of me being here anymore. Time to leave this topic before i say something stupid & got banned :steamfacepalm:

They're trying to justify their brag but realised the playtime is awful so now it's more time spent = more value, which is awful logic.

I guess worse gamers get the highest value out of games because they take the longest to complete them? That cuphead reviewer who couldn't get past the tutorial must be swimming in value...

are you talking to me? if so, i don't see your point and i am not even trying to argue with you.

it was a statement to explain how my thought process was before jumping into the game.
first play through is on normal and i defiantly see that i have much more fun when sh1it hits the fan and i don't rly know if my squad is gonna make it.

i hopefully will enjoy nightmare even more then i already do medium.
