I disagree. She's still a WY civilian, not trained in combat. Regardless of how many heavy weapons are on the ship, she wasn't in a position to retrieve them to stop the alien. While a definite change of pace from the other missions, it's not annoying, given its not hard to avoid the alien throughout the mission.
How those marines would help?
Using a harsh language?
If you watched Aliens 1986, then you know that marines did not walk on Sulaco with weapons. Likely for health and safety reason.
I guess, you are not a fan of Aliens.
They were in orbit premission in the movie, no threats on board. In the game you've crashed landed and are routinely fending off the aliens. Not hard to imagine they would be on a war footing with everyone having access to a side arm at the least -_-
You are speculating here. And there was no info that they were fending Xenos on the ship.
The Otago has plasma cannons that prevent the Aliens from coming nearby
Sensors to detect them.
You don't want civilians to hold guns, even in a situation like this, specially if you have defenses and trained marines.
Also at the beginning of the mission they say most marines are outside the ship on mission (which is stupide but hey it's a game).
The events in the game take place around a few weeks, not enough to train anyone into becoming a marine and or skilled shooter.
Why do you explain me something I know?
Also by on the ship I meant inside of it like on its deck or on its board.
And no, it is not stupid. In the movie, all crew left the Sulaco.
